TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes produced by gram-negative, acetic acid bacteria (Gluconacetobacter xylinus) as flexible substrates for the fabrication of organic light-emitting Diodes (OLED).

TL;DR: In this article, a 2-dimensional clustering of polystyrene latex particles on an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode was studied in situ using optical microscopy.
Abstract: Electrophoretic deposition of micron-sized polystyrene latex particles on an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode was studied in situ using optical microscopy. Strong 2-dimensional clustering of the particles on the electrode surface was observed upon application of a potential. The clustering decreases somewhat with increasing salt concentration. Upon reversal of the direction of the field, the clusters broke up. The aggregation on the electrode cannot be explained by DLVO or dipole interactions. A possible interpretation may be formulated in terms of electro-osmotic flow.

TL;DR: It is anticipated that the CuNW-G core-shell nanostructure can be used as an alternative to conventional TCE materials for emerging optoelectronic devices such as flexible solar cells, displays, and touch panels.
Abstract: A copper nanowire–graphene (CuNW-G) core–shell nanostructure was successfully synthesized using a low-temperature plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition process at temperatures as low as 400 °C for the first time. The CuNW-G core–shell nanostructure was systematically characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. A transparent conducting electrode (TCE) based on the CuNW-G core–shell nanostructure exhibited excellent optical and electrical properties compared to a conventional indium tin oxide TCE. Moreover, it showed remarkable thermal oxidation and chemical stability because of the tight encapsulation of the CuNW with gas-impermeable graphene shells. The potential suitability of CuNW-G TCE was demonstrated by fabricating bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells. We anticipate that the CuNW-G core–shell nanostructure can be used as an alternative to conventional TCE materials for emerging opt...

TL;DR: Graphene anode- and cathode-based flexible PSCs with record-high power conversion efficiencies of 6.1 and 7.1%, respectively are demonstrated.
Abstract: Advancements in the field of flexible high-efficiency solar cells and other optoelectronic devices will strongly depend on the development of electrode materials with good conductivity and flexibility. To address chemical and mechanical instability of currently used indium tin oxide (ITO), graphene has been suggested as a promising flexible transparent electrode but challenges remain in achieving high efficiency of graphene-based polymer solar cells (PSCs) compared to their ITO-based counterparts. Here we demonstrate graphene anode- and cathode-based flexible PSCs with record-high power conversion efficiencies of 6.1 and 7.1%, respectively. The high efficiencies were achieved via thermal treatment of MoO3 electron blocking layer and direct deposition of ZnO electron transporting layer on graphene. We also demonstrate graphene-based flexible PSCs on polyethylene naphthalate substrates and show the device stability under different bending conditions. Our work paves a way to fully graphene electrode-based fl...
