Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: Perakine (Va) as discussed by the authors is a representative of a new type of hexacyclic indole alkaloid related to perakine and its structure was established from the analysis of the X-ray diffraction data obtained from the methiodide and by the chemical and mass spectral evidence.

TL;DR: An HPLC-DAD-directed chemical investigation of the soil-derived fungus Aspergillus versicolor QC812 resulted in the isolation and identification of eight new linearly fused prenylated indole alkaloids, as perversiamides I-P (1-8), along with a congener, asperversiamide H (9).
Abstract: An HPLC-DAD-directed chemical investigation of the soil-derived fungus Aspergillus versicolor QC812 resulted in the isolation and identification of eight new linearly fused prenylated indole alkaloids, asperversiamides I–P (1–8), along with a congener, asperversiamide H (9). Their structures and absolute configurations were determined by spectroscopic analysis including HRESIMS and 1D and 2D NMR, electronic circular dichroism analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Asperversiamide I (1), the first diketopiperazine derived from d-proline and l-tryptophan, possesses an unprecedented C-11-spiro-fused 6/6/5/5/6/5 hexacyclic ring system. Asperversiamide J (2) is the first linearly fused 6/6/5 tricyclic prenylated indole alkaloid to be reported. 1 and 2 showed moderate inhibitory activities against HeLa cells with IC50 values of 7.3 and 6.4 μM, respectively.

TL;DR: In this paper, a Corynanthe-type indole alkaloid, (−)-9methoxymitralactonine (1 ), having a highly conjugated system was isolated from the young leaves of Mitragyna speciosa in Malaysia, and its structure was first deduced by spectroscopic analysis and then confirmed by chiral-total synthesis starting from optically pure epoxy-ketone and 5methox-3,4-dihydro-β-carboline.

TL;DR: A new oxindole alkaloid, rankinidine, has been isolated from the MeOH extract of the stem of Gelsemium rankinii by comparison with an analog, humantenirine, which also occurred in this plant.
Abstract: A new oxindole alkaloid, rankinidine (1), has been isolated from the MeOH extract of the stem of Gelsemium rankinii. Its structure was elucidated by comparison with an analog, humantenirine (3), which also occurred in this plant.
