TL;DR: In this paper, a sensor with multiple magnetic field sensing elements for use in current sensing and other applications is presented, and a programmable misalignment adjustment block is used to control the circuitry to generate the output signal with compensation for misalignments between the sensor and the target.
Abstract: A sensor with multiple magnetic field sensing elements for use in current sensing and other applications is presented. The sensor includes an arrangement of two or more magnetic field sensing elements to sense magnetic field associated with a target. The sensor further includes circuitry to generate a sensor output signal based on sensing of at least one of the magnetic field sensing elements of the arrangement. Also included is a programmable misalignment adjustment block to control the circuitry to generate the output signal with compensation for misalignment between the sensor and the target. The programmable misalignment adjustment block can be programmed to select measurement of one of the two or more magnetic field sensing elements, or alternatively, a mathematical combination of measurements of the two or more magnetic field sensing elements, for generating the sensor output signal when a test of the sensor indicates a misalignment.

TL;DR: In this article, a directional capacitive proximity sensor is installed in a device such that the first sensor is positioned near a first component of the device, and the second sensor is located near a second component.
Abstract: A directional capacitive proximity sensor circuit capable of providing directional capacitive proximity sensing includes one or more guard electrodes, a first sensor, and a second sensor. The directional capacitive proximity sensor is installed in a device such that the first sensor is positioned near a first component of the device, and the second sensor is positioned near a second component of the device. The first and second sensors measure a capacitance to detect proximity of a user relative to the respective sensor, wherein the detected proximity is interpreted to determine a direction in which the user proximity is detected relative to the directional capacitive proximity sensor circuit. The guard electrode is provided to mitigate stray capacitance to reduce error in the capacitance measurements obtained by the first and second sensors.

TL;DR: In this article, 12 sensors distributed over the aircraft continuously monitor the local electric and magnetic field and determine the local magnetic fields, retaining pre-and post-trigger data over the time span of about 1 s.
Abstract: In order to retrieve the lightning attachment points, 12 sensors distributed over the aircraft continuously monitor the local electric and magnetic field. The selection of the number and positions of the sensors is described in [4]. The ILDAS is triggered by sudden changes in the field strength in the aircraft. The sensors then determine the local magnetic fields, retaining pre-and post-trigger data over the time span of about 1 s. After landing, the data are compared with possible field distributions derived for a number of current path scenarios [3], and the most likely entry and exit regions are determined.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed a hybrid angular sensor that combines magnetic Hall and inductive transducers for automotive angular position sensing, achieving a 360° range, high accuracy and robust against mechanical misalignments, stray fields and stray metals.
Abstract: Magnetic and inductive sensors are the dominant technologies in angular position sensing for automotive applications. This paper introduces a new angular sensor: a hybrid concept combining the magnetic Hall and inductive principles. A magnetic Hall transducer provides an accurate angle from 0° to 180°, whereas an inductive transducer provides a coarse angle from 0° to 360°. For this novel concept, a hybrid target with a magnetic and inductive signature is also needed. Using the two principles at the same time enables superior performances, in terms of range, compactness and robustness, that are not possible when used separately. We realized and characterized a prototype. The prototype achieves a 360° range, has a high accuracy and is robust against mechanical misalignments, stray fields and stray metals. The measurement results demonstrate that the two sensing principles are completely independent, thereby opening the doors for hybrid optimum magnetic–inductive designs beyond the usual trade-offs (range vs. resolution, size vs. robustness to misalignment).
