TL;DR: In this paper, a balanced bridge variable inductance magnetic core structure is proposed to detect the presence of a external ferrous object by a change in inductance of the sensor magnetic flux path.
Abstract: A high pressure proximity sensor for high pressure environments uses a balanced bridge variable inductance magnetic core structure to detect the presence of a external ferrous object by a change in inductance. The sensor magnetic flux path is defined by the sensor's specific geometry which includes core windings on the core and a sensor housing. The core includes a center post of a nonmagnetic material to transfer stress from a housing sensor face to the core's symmetric axis to cancel the effect of an external pressure induced stress on the sensor. The center post is encircled by an elastomer barrier between the housing sensor face and an adjacent end of the internal core to prevent migration of an internal potting compound between the core end and the sensor face. This structure provides satisfactory sensor operation in environments imposing shock and vibration on the sensor as well as high external pressures.

TL;DR: In this paper, an inductance-to-data converter is used to convert sensor measurements into corresponding sensor data representing magnetic tampering conditions (displacement or tamper) to detect anomalous magnetic coupling between the proximity target and the inductive sensor.
Abstract: An inductive security sensor system is not susceptible to magnetic tampering (such as by using an external magnet or false target). A sensor assembly includes an inductive sensor (inductor coil), mounted in a relatively secure location, and a conductive proximity target incorporated with an object (such as a window or door, or an object/asset). An alarm condition can be detected as either a displacement condition in which the proximity target is displaced relative to the inductive sensor, or a tamper condition in which magnetic coupling between the proximity target and the inductive sensor is interfered with (such as by introducing a false conductive target) An inductance-to-data converter drives the inductor coil with an excitation signal to project a time-varying magnetic field for magnetically coupling to the proximity target. The IDC acquires sensor measurements (such as coil inductance), which are converted into corresponding sensor data representing alarm conditions (displacement or tamper).

TL;DR: In this article, a full-field microscopic three-dimensional shape automatic detector is presented, which is composed of a stepping motor sliding table, a base, an X/Y-direction stepping motor guide rail system, a contact type inductive sensor, a laser displacement sensor, sensor connector, and a CCD camera.
Abstract: The invention discloses a method and a device for measuring and evaluating surface microscopic three-dimensional shape features of a part, can realize switching of contact type and non-contact type measurement, and expand the measurement range. The surface full-field microscopic three-dimensional shape automatic detector is composed of a stepping motor sliding table, a base, an X/Y-direction stepping motor guide rail system, a contact type inductive sensor, a laser displacement sensor, a sensor connector, a CCD camera and the like, wherein the CCD camera can perform path planning before detection and path correction during the detection process; a position of the measured part relative to the inductive sensor or the laser displacement sensor is changed through controlling the X/Y-directionstepping motor guide rail system, so as to perform detection according to a planned detection path; and the inductive sensor or the laser displacement sensor outputs vertical height data of a measured point on the measured part during measurement, position coordinates of the measured point are subjected to one-to-one correspondence with the height data, and the three-dimensional shape data of a measured surface can be obtained, thus surface feature parameters such as surface roughness and flatness can be obtained.

TL;DR: This paper describes the application of wireless LC sensor for measuring the concentration of water (or moisture) in the building materials and the program has been developed in LabVIEW software package allowing remote control and acquisition of measured data.
Abstract: This paper describes the application of wireless LC sensor for measuring the concentration of water (or moisture) in the building materials. The sensor has manufactured on a double layered PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and placed in a test sample of a building material that is immersed in water. The change of water concentration in the sample can be measured wirelessly (antenna coil) by monitoring variations in sensors resonant frequency. Clay brick and aerated autoclaved concrete block are used for examination and testing as the often used building materials. Dielectric constant of water is much higher compared to the dielectric constant of test samples, and the higher concentration of water (or moisture) content of samples dictated a reduction in the sensor resonant frequency. Measurements were done at room temperature, using a PC with in-house developed software and an Impedance Analyzer HP-4194A. The program has been developed in LabVIEW software package allowing remote control and acquisition of measured data.
