TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a new optical sensor based on a bundle of optical fibres is analyzed, and the results of the optical sensor show a good correlation with those provided by the inductive sensor, demonstrating the suitability of optical sensor to be employed in tip timing measurements and structural health monitoring applications in real working conditions of aircraft engines.
Abstract: In this paper the performance of a new optical sensor based on a bundle of optical fibres is analysed. An inductive sensor with proven capacity to carry out blade tip timing measurements in real aircraft engines applications is used as reference. The results of the optical sensor show a good correlation with those provided by the inductive sensor, demonstrating the suitability of the optical sensor to be employed in tip timing measurements and structural health monitoring applications in real working conditions of aircraft engines.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mixed antenna system driving method for driving a mixed-antenna consisting of a control IC, a sensor module, and an antenna is described, where the control IC switches the antenna away from the capacitive proximity sensor to an electromagnetic wave generating circuit of the sensor module for enabling the electromagnetic wave generation circuit to perform an induction operation by means of the antenna after received a sensed signal from the CRS.
Abstract: A mixed antenna system driving method for driving a mixed antenna consisting of a control IC, a sensor module and an antenna is disclosed. The control IC switches the antenna to a capacitive proximity sensor of the sensor module for enabling the capacitive proximity sensor to sense the approaching of an external object by means of the antenna, and then switches the antenna away from the capacitive proximity sensor to an electromagnetic wave generating circuit of the sensor module for enabling the electromagnetic wave generating circuit to perform an induction operation by means of the antenna after received a sensed signal from the capacitive proximity sensor, and switches the antenna back to the capacitive proximity sensor after the induction operation of the electromagnetic wave generating circuit.

TL;DR: In this article, an inductive sensor calibration method and device for capacitive sensor displacement compensation, and belongs to the technical field of precision measurement, is presented. But the method is not suitable for large-travel and high-precision displacement sensors.
Abstract: The invention discloses an inductive sensor calibration method and device for capacitive sensor displacement compensation, and belongs to the technical field of precision measurement. The calibration method and device take a dual-frequency laser interferometer as a motion reference, a linear motor as a macro motion drive element, a ball guide rail as a macro motion guide element and a linear grating as a macro motion feedback element for macro motion rough positioning; and adopt a voice coil motor as a micro motion drive element, an air-flotation guide rail as a micro motion guide element and the dual-frequency laser interferometer and a linear grating scale as micro motion feedback elements for micro motion fine positioning to compensate for a macro motion positioning error. Four capacitive sensors are used to compensate the pitch and yaw errors of a macro and micro positioning platform. According to the invention, the contradiction between the travel and the precision of the displacement sensor calibration device can be effectively solved, and the dynamic and static calibration of the large-travel and high-precision inductive displacement sensor is realized.

TL;DR: In this paper, a spin-valve giant magnetoresistive (SV-GMR) sensor was proposed for inspection of PCBs, which showed high sensitivity to a small magnetic field in one direction.
Abstract: The eddy-current testing technique is an interesting method for detecting defects on bare printed circuit boards. This technique detects various defects without mechanical stress to PCB patterns. Usually various pickup coils are used in an ECT probe as a magnetic sensor. Pickup coil sensors, however, do not show enough S/N ratio to detect defects in high-density PCBs, whose conductors are less than 100μm. We propose a new ECT probe with a spin-valve giant magnetoresistive (SV-GMR) sensor for inspection of PCBs. SV-GMR sensors show high sensitivity to a small magnetic field in one direction. This sensor senses a magnetic field as varying its resistance unlike inductive sensors such as a pickup coil.In this paper, we investigated the sensing properties of a SV-GMR sensor with changing axes, frequencies, and magnetic field amplitudes, and discussed problems that could occur in replacing a pickup coil with SV-GMR.

TL;DR: In this article, a resistive sensor structure is used as a voltage/current converter that provides input currents to a current amplifier, which in turn provides an amplified output voltage on the basis of a difference of the input currents.
Abstract: An electronic system comprises a resistive sensor structure and an electronic circuit portion whose design is selected such that different resistive sensor structures may be combined within the same electronic circuit. To this end, the resistive sensor structure is used as a voltage/current converter that provides input currents to a current amplifier, which in turn provides an amplified output voltage on the basis of a difference of the input currents. The operating range of the current amplifier is adjusted on the basis of a programmable current source irrespective of the configuration of the resistive sensor structure.
