TL;DR: In this paper, the arrangement of the coils and the magnetic sensor with respect to one another and/or the number of coil turns and the winding sense of coils and or the coil current is/are selected in such a manner that the magnetic field generated by the coils approximately disappears at the location of a magnetic field sensor.
Abstract: The invention relates to a sensor apparatus, in particular a metal sensor, having at least two coils and a magnetic field sensor, in which the arrangement of coils and magnetic sensor with respect to one another and/or the number of coil turns and/or the winding sense of the coils and/or the coil current is/are selected in such a manner that the magnetic field generated by the coils approximately disappears at the location of the magnetic field sensor. The invention also relates to a method for detecting objects, in particular a method for finding metal objects, using at least two coils and a magnetic field sensor, in particular an AMR, GMR or Hall sensor, in which the arrangement of the coils and the magnetic sensor with respect to one another and/or the number of coil turns and/or the winding sense of the coils and/or the coil current is/are selected in such a manner that the magnetic field generated by the coils approximately disappears at the location of the magnetic field sensor.

TL;DR: A sensor with a wireless power supply includes, as a sensor unit, a resonant circuit having a capacitance and a coil, the coil being used not only for measurement but also for reception of electromagnetic waves for supplying power to the sensor.
Abstract: A sensor with a wireless power supply includes, as a sensor unit, a resonant circuit having a capacitance and a coil, the coil being used not only for measurement but also for reception of electromagnetic waves for supplying power to the sensor. In a first preferred embodiment of the invention, the sensor has a filter for frequency separation of the sensor signal into a supply component and payload signal component. In such a case, the sensor can be supplied during a measurement. In a second preferred embodiment of the invention, the sensor has a changeover switch for time separation of the sensor signal into the supply component and the payload signal component. In such a case, the sensor is supplied on an alternating cycle with a measurement.

TL;DR: In this paper, an electronic device includes a touch screen, a background light, and a proximity sensor, and the electronic device sets a default value for an amount of electric power supplied to the proximity sensor.
Abstract: An electronic device includes a touch screen, a background light, and a proximity sensor. The electronic device sets a default value for an amount of electric power supplied to the proximity sensor and a rule for adjusting the amount of electric power supplied to the proximity sensor. When a calling function of the electronic device is started, the electronic device is enabled to supply the proximity sensor the amount of electric power having the default value, and determines if the proximity sensor detects an object near the touch screen with the amount of electric power having the default value. The electronic device increases or decreases the amount of electric power supplied to the proximity sensor according to the rule.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present features and applications of the upgraded inductive sensor for BTT, which is able to operate in contact with exhaust gases of temperature even as high as 1200 K. The sensor technique has been demonstrated on four stages of a surplus military turbofan including the high pressure turbine as part of the engine health monitoring system.
Abstract: Abstract The paper reviews features and applications of the upgraded inductive sensor for BTT, which is able to operate in contact with exhaust gases of temperature even as high as 1200 K. The new design includes metal-ceramic housing ensuring proper heat transfer, magnetic circuit containing set of permanent magnets with various magnetic field values and Curie temperatures, completely redesigned windings and current/voltage converter used instead of an electromotive force amplifier. Its principle of operation is based on electro-dynamical interaction and therefore it may be referred as a passive eddy-current sensor. The sensor technique has been demonstrated on four stages of a surplus military turbofan including the high pressure turbine as part of the engine health monitoring system. We present signal samples and review methods used for online processing of time-of-arrival signals when only a limited number of sensors is available.
