TL;DR: In this article, a method for determining burn time for a coil-on plug ignition is proposed, which includes disposing an inductive sensor adjacent to an ignition housing, using the inductive sensors to detect an electromagnetic flux output by the coil on plug ignition during a period encompassing at least one firing section, and determining a burn time by identifying a firing line, identifying an endpoint of a spark line and determining the time period there between.
Abstract: A coil-on plug testing apparatus generates an output signal representing an ignition signal. The testing apparatus includes an inductive sensor for detecting an electromagnetic flux generated by a coil-on plug device during a firing event and generating and outputting a voltage in response thereto, and a signal processing circuit electrically connected to the inductive sensor for generating an output signal in response to variations in the voltage output by the inductive sensor. A method for determining burn time for a coil-on plug ignition includes disposing an inductive sensor adjacent to a coil-on plug ignition housing, using the inductive sensor to detect an electromagnetic flux output by the coil-on plug ignition during a period encompassing at least one firing section, and determining a burn time by identifying a firing line, identifying an endpoint of a spark line and determining a time period therebetween.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a method to position a lens system of an optical device with a precision of at least 1 μm using read-out circuits using double-correlated sampling structures.
Abstract: Systems and methods to position most precisely a lens system of an optical device are disclosed. Embodiments of these electrical sensors comprise capacitive sensors, inductive sensors and resistive sensors to measure the actual position of a lens system with a precision of at least 1 μm. Read-out circuits using double-correlated sampling structures are providing the position signals from the electrical sensors to a controller. The controller compares the actual position signals with a set-signal representing a target position of the lens signal and issues a signal to a motor to get the lens system moved to the target position. A variety of motors/actuators can be used to move a slider carrying the lens system to the position desired.

Abstract: An improved apparatus for measuring the grain-size composition of powders in which a device for transforming a powder into a gaseous flow of individual particles, a charging chamber in which each particle acquires a charge which is proportional to its surface area, a precipitating capacitor in which the flow of charged particles is separated into various fractions in accordance with the charge on the particles, an electrometric device for measuring the total charge of individual fractions are provided, the electrometric device having inductive sensors of charged particles, the number of inductive sensors being equal to the number of fractions, and an amplifier to which are connected all inductive sensors of charged particles. The improvement comprises a plurality of switching devices, one switching device being provided for each sensor. Each switching device has an input and an output, includes a sealed contact means for avoiding charge leakage from the respective sensors, and is positioned between an inductive sensor and the amplifier.

TL;DR: A simple low-cost inductive sensor is developed for quickly determining the total mass of magnetic nanoparticles that is bound to the plasma membrane and internalized by cultured cells and results show that the achieved dosimetric performance is comparable with relatively expensive analytical techniques that are much more time-consuming and labor-intensive to perform.
