TL;DR: The quasi-resonant technique for multilevel modular switched-capacitor circuit (MMSCC) to achieve zero-current-switching (ZCS) without increasing cost and sacrificing reliability is presented, leading to reliable and high efficiency advantages over traditional MMSCC.
Abstract: This paper presents a quasi-resonant technique for multilevel modular switched-capacitor circuit (MMSCC) to achieve zero-current-switching (ZCS) without increasing cost and sacrificing reliability. This zero-current-switching multilevel modular switched-capacitor circuit (ZCS-MMSCC) employs the stray inductance existing in the circuit as the resonant inductor to resonate with the capacitor and provide low dv/dt and low switching loss for the device. The ZCS-MMSCC does not utilize any additional components to achieve ZCS and solves the current and voltage spike problem during the switching transition, thus leading to reliable and high efficiency advantages over traditional MMSCC. Furthermore, the ZCS-MMSCC reduces the capacitance needed the circuit; in this case, the bulky capacitors present in traditional MMSCC to attain high efficiency is not necessary any more. A 150 W four-level ZCS-MMSCC prototype has been built. Simulation and experimental results are given to demonstrate the validity and features of the soft switching switched-capacitor circuit.

TL;DR: In this paper, a resonant intermediate loop comprised of a non-coiled wire carrying a larger resonating current is used to generate an inductive field to be collected by a pickup coil.
Abstract: Inductive power transfer across an extended gap (100) from a primary conductor (119) is provided by means of a resonant intermediate loop comprised of capacitor (118) with inductor (117) - perhaps simply a non-coiled wire - carrying a larger resonating current, that can in turn generate an inductive field to be collected by a pickup coil (120). This loop may increase the transfer rate or reduce the alignment accuracy required of an IPT system, useful for vehicles as well as for lighting and display purposes, and also offers frequency-stabilising features. An electroluminescent advertising panel may be powered from a sine-wave oscillator at 1.2 kHz; its DC power at 50 volts collected by a controlled secondary pickup coil tuned to a system frequency of 15 kHz and placed near to an intermediate pickup coil; also resonant at the system frequency and which is driven by inductive coupling from a primary conductor fed with alternating current at the system frequency.

TL;DR: In this paper, the harmonic filter for a three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) grid interface converter is designed with good filtering performance and small component size.
Abstract: The harmonic filter for a three-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) grid interface converter is designed in this paper with good filtering performance and small component size. LCL topology is selected because of the attenuation and size tradeoff. The design of the inverter-side inductor L 1 is emphasized due to its cost. A detailed inductor current ripple analysis is given based on the space vector modulation. The analysis derives the inductor volt-second and the maximum current ripple equation in line cycle. It also reveals the switching cycle current ripple distribution over a line cycle, with the consideration of power factor. The total system loss is calculated with different ripple current. Inductor L 1 is determined by the loss and size tradeoff. Also the capacitor- and grid-side inductor L 2 is designed based on attenuation requirement. Different damping circuits for LCL filter are compared and investigated in detail. The filter design is verified by both simulation and 200-kVA three-level NPC converter hardware.

TL;DR: In this article, the stator bars are configured to shield the electrical conductor winding from electromagnetic forces and further, to provide a first flux return path for the magnetic flux created by magnets fixed to a rotor.
Abstract: An electromotive device (10) is disclosed which utilizes stacks of oriented magnetic material as stator bars (40). Electrical conductors (38) are wound about the stator bars (40) to create a stator inductor (36). The stator bars (40) are generally configured to shield the electrical conductor winding (38) from electromagnetic forces and further, to provide a first flux return path for the magnetic flux created by magnets (34) fixed to a rotor (32) formovement with respect to the stator inductor (36).

TL;DR: Based on the analysis of the average model of parallel system, a circuiting currents deadbeat controller is designed while presenting the design method in this article, which can be applied to common dc-link double parallel three-phase voltage converters with communication line.
Abstract: Module parallel connection for three-phase VSC can increase the system level effectively. However, the circulating currents problem will occur. The circulating currents will distort the three-phase currents, increase the power loss and decrease the system efficiency. A novel deadbeat circuiting currents control method is proposed in this paper. Based on the analysis of the average model of parallel system, a circuiting currents deadbeat controller is designed while presenting the design method. The control strategy is realized by adjusting the voltage zero vector of space-vector pulse-width modulation in each paralleled module. No additional hardware is needed through the method. Fast dynamic response can be achieved and the performance of circulating currents is better compared with conventional PI controller. This method can be applied to common dc-link double parallel three-phase voltage converters with communication line. The validity of proposed theory was verified by simulation and experimental results. It is shown that the parallel converters can operate with different line inductor or different line currents by using this novel control strategy.
