TL;DR: In this article, a dynamically reconfigurable heterogeneous systolic array is configured to process a first image frame and to generate image processing primatives from the image frame, and to store the primatives and the corresponding image frame in a memory store.
Abstract: A dynamically reconfigurable heterogeneous systolic array is configured to process a first image frame, and to generate image processing primatives from the image frame, and to store the primatives and the corresponding image frame in a memory store. A characteristic of the image frame is determined. Based on the characteristic, the array is reconfigured to process a following image frame.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for global motion estimation for video stabilization is presented, which enables selecting a video frame from a video stream and computing a single global motion vector for the selected macroblocks and determining occurrence of at least one of: scene change, illumination change or crossing object.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for global motion estimation for video stabilization. The method enables selecting a video frame from a video stream. The method further enables downscaling the video frames by factor close to 2 in a two dimensional range, dividing the downscaled video frame into a plurality of macroblocks, performing motion estimation for the macroblocks to generate a set of local motion vectors. Further, the method enables selecting macroblocks representing global motion vectors from the set of local motion vectors, computing a single global motion vector for the selected macroblocks and determining occurrence of at least one of: scene change, illumination change or crossing object and modifying the single global vector to compensate for errors induced due to occurrence of at least one of: scene change, illumination change or crossing object.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of motion compensation within a displayable video stream using shared resources of a Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) is presented. But the method is limited to a single image frame.
Abstract: A method of motion compensation within a displayable video stream using shared resources of a Graphics Processor Unit (GPU). Image data including a sequential series of image frames is recieved. Each frame includes any one or more: frame-type; image texture; and motion vector information. At least a current image frame in analysed, and the shared resources of the GPU are controlled to generate a motion compensated image frame corresponding to the current image frame, using one or more GPU commands.

TL;DR: In this article, a weighted average or centroid of the intensity or hue associated with pixels vs the horizontal and vertical position of each pixel is calculated for a reference frame in the video data stream.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for stabilizing image frames in a video data stream. A weighted average or centroid of the intensity or hue associated with pixels vs. the horizontal and vertical position of each pixel is calculated for a reference frame in the video data stream. A corresponding centroid is calculated for a subsequent frame in the stream. This image frame is then translated so that the centroid of the subsequent frame and the centroid of the reference frame coincide, reducing artifacts from shaking of the video capture device. Alternatively, the video stream frames may be divided into tiles and centroids calculated for each tile. The centroids of the tiles of a subsequent frame are curve fit to the centroids of tiles in a reference frame. An affine transform is then performed on the subsequent frame to reduce artifacts in the image from movements of the video capture device.

TL;DR: In this article, a real-time video frame sequence is spread in time, frame by frame, to match the transmission rate and bandwidth of a computer communication network and once transmitted is reconstructed at the receiving site to its real time frame rate.
Abstract: A real time video frame sequence is spread in time, frame by frame, to match the transmission rate and bandwidth of a computer communication network and once transmitted is reconstructed at the receiving site to its real time frame rate The video frame sequence may be loaded, frame by frame, into a first-in-first-out memory stack to be substituted for the conventional video frame network transmission whenever a high excitement event is indicated by the audio level associated with the video frame sequence, the first-in-first-out memory stacking allowing for the usual group reaction delay The method is particularly useful in transmitting video images from selected gaming sites of a casino
