TL;DR: In this article, a method and apparatus for temporally filtering a video sequence using motion compensation in which motion information captures the motion of objects is disclosed, and pixels from a current frame are aligned with matching pixels from previous and/or future frames according to the motion surrounding object of arbitrary shape.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for temporally filtering a video sequence using motion compensation in which motion information captures the motion of objects is disclosed. Pixels from a current frame are aligned with matching pixels from previous and/or future frames according to the motion of the surrounding object of arbitrary shape. A weighted average of the corresponding pixels is taken for each pixel in the current frame to produce a filtered version of the current frame. The weights may be adjusted to compensate for similarities between the frames and for blur transitions near object boundaries. A lighting offset may also be used to prevent erroneous lighting shifts during filtering.

TL;DR: In this paper, a video encoder is configured to encode a block of video data using a motion vector that refers to a reference frame in one of a plurality of sets of reference frames with a selected sub-inieger pixel precision.
Abstract: Video coding devices may signal or determine sub-integer pixel precision for motion vectors based on a direction of prediciion for ihe moiion vector, e.g., whether a reference frame is to be displayed earlier or later than a current frame, in one example, an apparatus includes a video encoder configured to encode a block of video data using a motion vector that refers to a reference frame in one of a plurality of sets of reference frames with a selected sub-inieger pixel precision, generate a value representative of the selected precision for the motion vector based on the one of the plurality of sets of reference frames referred to by the motion vector, and output the encoded block and the generated value representative of the selected precision for the motion vector, A video decoder may determine a sub-integer pixel precision for the motion vector based on the value.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a new adaptive prediction algorithm which exclusively selects, on a pel-by-pel basis, either intraframe or motion-compensated interframe prediction.
Abstract: This paper proposes a new adaptive prediction algorithm which exclusively selects, on a pel-by-pel basis, either intraframe or motion-compensated interframe prediction. Prediction selection is made referencing previous samples, thus transmission of the selection information is not needed. Compared with motion-compensated interframe coding, it has been shown that coding performance is improved to a great extent, by about 40% for pictures with very fast motion, which is beyond motion compensation capability, and by 50% for scene change where motion compensation is, in principle, of no use.

TL;DR: In this paper, the interframe coding of digital video is performed by matching blocks of transform coefficients representing a frame to be predicted with a phase-allocated array of coefficients representing the reference frame.

TL;DR: In this article, a reduced-bandwidth wireless 3D video transmission method is proposed, which includes receiving initial first-eye frame data, reprojecting the next second-eyeframe data to the first eye, and performing infilling on the next firsteye frame with the perspective-warped initial firsteye frames.
Abstract: A method for reduced-bandwidth wireless 3D video transmission includes receiving initial first-eye frame data, reprojecting the initial first-eye frame data to the second eye (which creates initial second-eye frame data), receiving sensor data; time-warping the initial first-eye and second-eye frame data, and receiving next second-eye frame data S 140 . The method can additionally or alternatively include perspective warping the initial first-eye frame data; reprojecting the next second-eye frame data to the first eye (which creates next first-eye frame data); performing infilling on the next first-eye frame data with the perspective-warped initial first-eye frame data; time-warping the next first-eye and second-eye frame data; and/or encoding transmitted frame data with sensor data.
