TL;DR: The Internet provides the potential for integrating many thousand of homes into a wide area metering communications network (WAMCN) architecture and the potential characteristics of this type of communication architecture are established for efficient transport of data services.
Abstract: The Internet was born approximately 20 years ago out of a project to integrate a US Defence Department Network called ARPAnet. This integration involved radio satellite voice and data networks. The Internet has completely revolutionised public communication networks. The concept of using the Internet for a metering communications service is proposed. The use of the Internet for a range of customer services in the residential and industrial area is also detailed. The Internet provides the potential for integrating many thousand of homes into a wide area metering communications network (WAMCN) architecture. The potential characteristics of this type of communication architecture are established for efficient transport of data services.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a method of dealing with the problem of phishing, pharming, key-logging and man-in-the-middle attacks on internet-based applications which require the submission of valid login credentials.
Abstract: A novel method of dealing with the problem of phishing, pharming, key-logging and man-in-the-middle attacks on internet-based applications which require the submission of valid login credentials, by permitting a user to control access to an internet-based application ( 3 ) (such as an internet banking website) by the simple transmission of a command via the internet to allow access to the internet-based application ( 3 ) whenever the user wishes to access the application, and by transmitting a command via the internet to deny access to the internet-based application at all other times, to prevent unauthorized access by any unscrupulous parties.

TL;DR: The WWW-based Java-enabled Internet computing model is used for implementing remote part submitting, queuing, monitoring, and managing and control of different access competences allows manufacturing sites and queues to be maintained in any place.
Abstract: In this paper a methodology is put forward to create an Internet-based infrastructure to service and maintain RP-oriented tele- manufacturing. The WWW-based Java-enabled Internet computing model is used for implementing remote part submitting, queuing, monitoring, and managing. Control of different access competences allows manufacturing sites and queues to be maintained respec tively in any place. A Java-based software testbed has been developed to serve as a verification platform.

TL;DR: The term Internet of Things generally refers to scenarios where network connectivity and computing capability extends to objects, sensors and everyday items and enable these devices to generate, exchange and consume data with minimal human intervention using various networking and communication models.
Abstract: The term Internet of Things generally refers to scenarios where network connectivity and computing capability extends to objects, sensors and everyday items and enable these devices to generate, exchange and consume data with minimal human intervention using various networking and communication models. The data generated or processed from those smart objects will ultimately pass through gateways with connectivity to IP-based networks or will otherwise be incorporated into products that are accessible through Internet.
