Abstract: The "Internet of Things" is a popular buzzword but a poorly understood concept. In short, it refers to everyday objects that can sense the environment around them and communicate that data to other objects and services via the Internet. This column will briefly explain what the Internet of Things is and how it might be useful for libraries. It will also discuss some of the problems with and objections to this technology. A list of currently available Internet of Things examples is also included.

Abstract: An internet activity system, authenticating an internet activity by four factors, including something that the client has, something that the client knows, some place that the client is, and something that the client is. A server (10) of a casino provides an internet activity and determines authentication of a user who is requesting access to the internet activity. An internet activity access apparatus (20) is incorporated to provide the information of something that the client has, something that the client knows, some place that the client is, and something that the client is.

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm allows small and resource constrained devices to send data through complex networks like the Internet. Bringing the IoT paradigm to the healthcare area, we can expand the connected health vision, enabling new Personal Health Devices (PHD) to share health information directly through the Internet. In this paper we explore the use of the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) lightweight protocol together with the ISO/IEEE 11073 standard. We present new ways of connecting PHDs in home networks and the Internet by the use of MQTT Brokers, which will reduce the amount of data traffic.

Abstract: Disclosed are an internet phone apparatus including a biological analysis device and a remote medical service method using the same. The biological analysis device is built in the internet phone apparatus. The internet phone apparatus transmits measurement data obtained from the biological analysis device to a remote doctor through an internet network and outputs medical service data as the medical service data are received from the remote doctor through the internet network. The internet phone apparatus including the biological analysis device and the remote medical service method using the same realize an effective remote medical diagnosis.
