TL;DR: The case of a 65-year-old woman with a calcified lipoma of the interpeduncular fossa presenting with a monoparesis is reported and this was excised, resulting in an improvement of her symptoms.
Abstract: The case of a 65-year-old woman with a calcified lipoma of the interpeduncular fossa presenting with a monoparesis is reported. This was excised, resulting in an improvement of her symptoms. The literature is reviewed.

Abstract: A live 25kg 2.5-month-old purebred Hampshire boar in goo d physical conditio n was present ed to the University of Missouri-Columbia Veterinary Medi cal Diagnostic Laborat ory with a history of an acut e onse t of sympto ms referabl e to the central nervou s system. Suppurati ve men ingiti s and possible Streptococcus suis infection had been diagn osed in a herdmate the previous week . Th e pig was afebrile and preferred to remain in right lateral recumbency. When the pig was forced to walk , head tremors, wide-based stance, loss of balance, leaning to right , and falling to the right were not ed . Constant, horizontal nystagmus was also ev ide nt. Th e pig was elect rically stunned and exsa nguinated , and a co m plete necropsy was performed. Ti ssue specimens from all major organs, includ ing brain , lung, liver , spleen, kidn ey heart, mu scle, skin, bone, th yroid glands, adre na l glands , pancreas, and urin ary bladder , were placed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for fixati on . Reflect ion of the dura covering the cerebellum revealed a smooth 6x 8-cm oblong, rubbery, gra yish-white multilobular mass (Fig. I). Once the brain had been rem oved , com pressed remnan ts of the cerebellum were found immed iately beneath to the mass, which could not be manually sepa rated from the adjacent meninges. T he cut sur face of the ma ss was grayish whit e, slightly bulging, and greasy , and the mass fl oated in forma lin. An irregular 4x 6-m m blui sh-gray, tran slucent , firm flat plaque was present on the dorsa l asp ect of the ma ss, and embedded within the ma ss was a 1x 1.5-cm hard white nodul e. Th e cut surface of the nod ule had an outer rim of bone, whieh surrounded a red marrow cavity. No other significant lesions were noted exce pt for a large num ber of ascarids present throughout the entire length of the small intestin e and in the cecum . Histologically, the cerebellar mass was co mpose d pr imarily of lobules of adipose tissue interrupted by fibrou s co nnecti ve tissue septa of various th icknesses (Fig. 2). Single ner ves ofvarious diam eters, and sma ll clusters of ner ves were di spersed throughout the sectio n (Figs. 2, 3). Th e mass was sur ro unded by fibrou s connective tissue, whic h was parti cular ly thick in the areas ab utt ing cere bellar tissue. Th e re-

TL;DR: The incidental autopsy finding of an intracranial lipoma in the left Sylvian region is reported, which is a rare location for an uncommon lesion.
Abstract: The incidental autopsy finding of an intracranial lipoma in the left Sylvian region is reported. This is a rare location for an uncommon lesion. A recent theory on its pathogenesis as a congenital lesion is presented and current methods of diagnosis and treatment are discussed.

TL;DR: A lipoma in the left lateral cerebral ventricle of a 73-year-old male was an incidental finding in the patient's postmortem examination and probably accounted for the acute hydrocephalus that lead to his sudden death.
Abstract: A lipoma in the left lateral cerebral ventricle of a 73-year-old male is reported. This rather infrequently occurring lesion was an incidental finding in the patient's postmortem examination and probably accounted for the acute hydrocephalus that lead to his sudden death.
