Abstract: A method for implementing an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration, includes: a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) recording a current registration state of a User Equipment (UE) in response to receiving a Multimedia Authentication Request (MAR) initiated by a Service Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) selected for the UE when a first Register request is sent by the UE; in response to receiving a second Register request initiated by an Interrogating Call Session Control Function (I-CSCF), the HSS sends the S-CSCF Name to the I-CSCF when the current registration state of the UE is an assigned S-CSCF state. By the scheme, a same S-CSCF is ensured to be used in the two User Authentication Request/User Authentication Answer (UAR/UAA) procedures of the initial IMS registration procedure, and the initial IMS registration of the UE is implemented successfully.

Abstract: Nowadays, the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a promising research field. Many ongoing works related to the security and the performances of its employment are presented to the research community. Although, the security and data privacy aspects are very important in the IMS global objectives, they observe little attention so far. Secure access to multimedia services is based on SIP and HTTP digest on top of IMS architecture. The standard deploys AKA-MD5 for the terminal authentication. The third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) provided Generic Bootstrapping Architecture (GBA) to authenticate the subscriber before accessing multimedia services over HTTP. In this paper, we propose a new IMS Service Authentication scheme using Identity Based cryptography (IBC). This new scheme will lead to better performances when there are simultaneous authentication requests using Identity-based Batch Verification. We analyzed the security of our new protocol and we presented a performance evaluation of its cryptographic operations.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a communication method, including: sending, by a mobility management entity MME, a bearer setup request message to an evolved NodeB eNodeB, where the bearer setup request message is used to instruct the eNodeB to set up a voice bearer for user equipment; and when the MME receives a bearer setup failure message sent by the eNodeB in response to the bearer setup request message, sending, by the MME, an indication message to the user equipment, where the indication message is used to indicate that a voice over Internet Protocol IP multimedia subsystem IMS VoIMS of the user equipment is unavailable According to the solution provided in an embodiment of the present invention, when setup of a voice bearer of a VoLTE call fails, the user equipment is notified that a VoLTE is unavailable, so that the user equipment can be prevented from continuing attempting to initiate the VoLTE call and exacerbating cell congestion

Abstract: Method for supporting network based mobility for a mobile terminal in an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) architecture, wherein the mobile terminal is connected to a femto cell or to a macro cell—source cell—and wherein handover of an actual session of the mobile terminal is performed to another femto cell or macro cell—target cell—, wherein the femto cells and the macro cells are provided with an eMSC-server (Mobile Switching Center Server enhanced for IMS Centralized Services) function, and wherein the source cell's eMSC-server function hosts a source user agent and the target cell's eMSC-server function hosts a target user agent, is characterized in that the source user agent contacts the target user agent directly or indirectly prior to executing the actual handover, and wherein the source user agent prepares the target user agent together with the corresponding access network by exchanging handover related information.
