TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a method of operating a node of a communications network that is configured to provide an IP Multimedia Subsystem Access Transfer Control Function (IMACF).
Abstract: According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of operating a node of a communications network that is configured to provide an IP Multimedia Subsystem Access Transfer Control Function. The method comprises storing information regarding IMS Service Continuity features that are supported by Mobile Switching Center servers within the network. Upon receipt of a message requesting IMS registration of a user equipment using the information to determine the IMS Service Continuity features that may be available to the user equipment, and, for any IMS Service Continuity features that may be available, including an indication that the IMS Service Continuity feature may be available in the message, and forwarding the message towards a Service Centralization and Continuity Application Server.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a content recommendation method in which pieces of information collected over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network are analyzed through data mining, a semantic pattern is identified from the information and described based on ontology, the characteristics of content to be offered are recorded in ontology and language morphological pattern, and a recommendation filter in terms of various viewpoints and methods is operated in an integrated recommendation framework.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a content recommendation method in which pieces of information collected over an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network are analyzed through data mining, a semantic pattern is identified from the information and described based on ontology, the characteristics of content to be offered are recorded in ontology and language morphological pattern, and a recommendation filter in terms of various viewpoints and methods is operated in an integrated recommendation framework, thus enabling content recommendation suitable for various contexts to be performed. The method includes the steps of receiving user information, creating personal preference information based on the user information, deciding a recommendation strategy based on the preference information for content, combining recommendation functions using the recommendation strategy and the content information, personalizing recommendation results with respect to the combination, and providing the personalized content information. Furthermore, the method for recommending content with context awareness according to the present invention has an advantage in that it can offer more efficient and accurate content to mobile terminal users as a mobile communication network is expanded into an IMS basis and opened and therefore the types and number of content accessible by mobile terminals as well as mobile phones increase abruptly. Furthermore, the method for recommending content with context awareness according to the present invention is advantageous in that it can analogize the life pattern of a mobile terminal user, etc. based on the user's current context information and offers content matching the inferred life pattern at the right time and place.

TL;DR: A unified IP format is presented that can be used to search for, deliver and exchange IPs between the designer and external IP service providers and the results prove its applicability.
Abstract: IP based design comprises two main steps. First, a suitable IP has to be found. Second, the IP has to undergo further processing before it can be included in existing designs. Since IP providers use different formats and design tools require different parts of the IP for their services it is hard to find an IP format that satisfies and is exchangeable between all parties. This paper presents such a unified format. It can be used to search for, deliver and exchange IPs between the designer and external IP service providers. A tool chain based on the format was implemented and evaluated. The results prove its applicability.

TL;DR: This paper shows how to efficiently synchronize the broadcasting server and the multimedia players and how to reduce service latency by limiting the multimedia player buffer length and a case study is simulated to confirm how the quality of the multimedia service is improved by applying these proposals.
Abstract: Multimedia services over mobile networks pose several challenges, such as the efficient management of radio resources or the latency induced by network delays and buffering requirements on the multimedia players. In Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, the definition of multimedia broadcast services over a common radio channel addresses the shortage of radio resources but introduces the problem of network error recovery. In order to address network errors on LTE multimedia broadcast services, the current standards propose the combined use of forward error correction and unicast recovery techniques at the application level. This paper shows how to efficiently synchronize the broadcasting server and the multimedia players and how to reduce service latency by limiting the multimedia player buffer length. This is accomplished by analyzing the relation between the different parameters of the LTE multimedia broadcast service, the multimedia player buffer length, and service interruptions. A case study is simulated to confirm how the quality of the multimedia service is improved by applying our proposals.

TL;DR: An ubiquitous health monitoring system based on the NGN/IMS (Next Generation Network/IP Multimedia Subsystem) that enables us to be taken care of by medical professionals anytime, anywhere using portable medical sensors and mobile networks is presented.
Abstract: In this demonstration we present an ubiquitous health monitoring system based on the NGN/IMS (Next Generation Network/IP Multimedia Subsystem). It enables us to be taken care of by medical professionals anytime, anywhere using portable medical sensors and mobile networks. To provide seamless health monitoring services, an open, secure and functional platform is required. Such a platform should support multiple functions such as real-time transfer, event notification, and continuous data accumulation. The NGN/IMS is a potential platform to fulfill these requirements, because it is a standard-based open platform, which provides AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting), QoS (Quality of Service) support, event notification and a data management server. We present a system design and a prototype implementation on a NGN/IMS testbed.
