TL;DR: This paper proposes the deployment of a mobility server in IMS-IP multimedia subsystem to provide session mobility between the devices connected to different access technologies.
Abstract: Session Mobility is an advanced feature that provides new capabilities for the clients as well as more benefits for the service operators. In this paper we propose the deployment of a Mobility Server in IMS-IP Multimedia Subsystem to provide Session Mobility between the devices connected to different access technologies. We have modified SIP based session mobility approaches and we have adopted them in IMS. Moreover, advanced features of session mobility like session splitting and combined device discovery and session mobility is sought in this paper.

TL;DR: The paper shows how it has been designed and implemented an elastic IMS-compliant solution by exploiting the widespread Asterisk server as media gateway and demonstrates the fully feasibility of the approach adopted and explained in this paper.
Abstract: Many recent projects and research activities in the telco sector are adopting the Cloud Computer paradigm consolidating their infrastructures towards converged and all-IP next generation networks providing typical telco services within LTE (and soon 5G) and also fixed network environments, e.g., often still adopting IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture solutions. In this perspective, cloud computing can significantly lower investment risks by implementing telco services with Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) on top of a Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Infrastructure. Within this general context, this paper presents the implementation and integration work accomplished within the large EU FP7 Mobile Cloud Networking project (MCN, 2013-2016) to achieve cost-effective elasticity of IMS-based multimedia applications. The paper shows how it has been designed and implemented an elastic IMS-compliant solution by exploiting the widespread Asterisk server as media gateway. Quality monitoring and scale in/out triggering are obtained through the interaction between the MCN Monitoring as a Service (MaaS) and OpenBaton, i.e., a novel open-source NFV Orchestrator (NFVO) integrated in MCN and fully compliant with the ETSI NFV Management and Orchestration (MANO) specifications. The collected performance results of the proposed solution, demonstrates the fully feasibility of the approach adopted and explained in this paper.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for delivering broadcast multimedia content in a networked home environment, a radio frequency (RF) signal is received, and then converted into an IP stream.
Abstract: Multimedia gateway for use in a networked home environment is disclosed. In one embodiment, in a method for delivering broadcast multimedia content in a networked home environment, a radio frequency (RF) signal is received. The RF signal is then converted into an IP stream. It is determined whether the IP stream is an IP data stream or an IP video stream and based on the outcome of the determination, the IP stream is sent to one or more televisions, one or more computing devices, and/or one or more telephones.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a CCBS implement proposal based on a PS that effectively manages the communication state of the users in whole network, so as to make full use of network resources and promote service ability.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of calling back on busy, which comprises that after an application server receives request of calling back on busy of a calling terminal and judges that the request is legal, a subscription request message of the state of a called terminal is sent to a presence server; the presence server learns that the called terminal is disengaged according to the reported state information of the called terminal and notifies the application server; then the application server originates call invitation to the calling terminal and the called terminal to realize calling back on busy. The invention further relates to a system of calling back on busy, which comprises a core network of an IP multimedia subsystem scope; the core network is further provided with a presence server that notifies the application server after learning that the called terminal is disengaged; the application server respectively originates call invitation to the calling terminal and the called terminal. The invention proposes a CCBS implement proposal based on a PS that effectively manages the communication state of the users in whole network, so as to make full use of network resources andpromote service ability.

TL;DR: This paper proposes an enhanced one- pass authentication protocol that addresses the weaknesses of the two previously proposed one-pass authentication protocols and provides comparative analysis of the proposed work with the existing approaches in terms of performance, security and compatibility.
Abstract: Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) can support IP Multimedia services by including the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) as part of its core network. To use IMS services, a user equipment needs to first authenticate itself with the UMTS and then with the IMS. However, these two authentication protocols share many similar operations. Recent research efforts have highlighted this issue and hence researchers have proposed one-pass authentication protocols to reduce the number of such overlapping steps and to address security vulnerabilities in the original IMS protocol. In this paper, we propose an enhanced one-pass authentication protocol that addresses the weaknesses of the two previously proposed one-pass authentication protocols. We also provide comparative analysis of our proposed work with the existing approaches in terms of performance, security and compatibility.
