TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose an application server (AS) that during operation communicates with the IMS core and serves as a data service registrar for the UEs, and providing logic in the AS configured to receive from a first UE of the plurality of UEs videoshare capabilities information of the first UE, cache the first UEs' capabilities information and send to a second UEs the cached first UE's capabilities information.
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing signaling traffic in the provision of data services to a plurality of user endpoints (UEs). The UEs are in communication with a radio access network, which is the in communication with an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core for providing data service to the UEs, the data service including a videoshare service. The systems and methods involve providing an application server (AS) that during operation communicates with the IMS core and serves as a data service registrar for the UEs, and providing logic in the AS configured to receive from a first UE of the plurality of UEs videoshare capabilities information of the first UE, cache the first UE videoshare capabilities information and send to a second UE of the plurality of UEs the cached first UE videoshare capabilities information.

TL;DR: How good the current wireless access network technologies are for usage in combination with IMS services is evaluated to give an indication as to what networks will be most applicable for usage, particularly for a vehicular environment.
Abstract: The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) as defined by the 3GPP emerges as blueprint for a central architecture to provide Next Generation Network (NGN) services. As overlay architecture for IP based access networks, it provides standardized interfaces to services which will merge the advantages of traditional telephony networks with the benefits of Internet services. This paper will evaluate how good the current wireless access network technologies are for usage in combination with IMS services. Based upon a reference implementation of IMS core elements, the Open IMS Core, measurements were carried out on signaling to give an indication as to what networks will be most applicable for usage, particularly for a vehicular environment.

28 Dec 2007TL;DR: In this paper, a method of domain selection for routing control, applied to a communication system including a Circuit Switched (CS) network and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), is described.
Abstract: A method of domain selection for routing control, applied to a communication system including a Circuit Switched (CS) network and an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) includes: obtaining call status(es) of a user in any one or both of the CS network and the IMS; selecting a domain via which an incoming call is to be delivered according to the call status(es) upon receiving a routing decision query request from a routing decision query entity, and indicating the routing decision query entity to deliver the incoming call via the CS network or the IMS selected. The method provided by embodiments of the present invention selects the domain according to the call status(es) of the user in any one or both of the CS network and the IMS. Therefore, the problem that two calls are respectively delivered via the CS network and the IMS at the same time may be avoided.
