Abstract: Objective To establish a UPLC/Q-TOF-MS/MS method for analyzing and identifying the consitituents of Fructus Cnidii extract(FCE)in vitro and in vivo.Methods The constituents were determined by UPLC/Q-TOF MS/MS at detection wavelength of 360 nm with Methyl Cyanides-0.1% formic acid as mobile phase and colume of ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 and ESI ion source.The data was collected under the positive ion modes.The identification was processed either by comparing the retention time and mass spectrometry data with that of reference compounds or by mass spectrometry analysis and retrieving literatures.Results Of the 9 detected compounds in vitro,5 were identified such as bergapten,xanthotoxin,isopimpinellin,imperatorin,osthole.The imperatorin and osthole were detected in rat plasma after oral administration of FC.Conclusion The technology of UPLC/Q-TOF MS/MS is rapid and effective,with high sensitivity and resolution and is suitable for identifying the active constituents of traditional Chinese drug in vitro and in vivo.

Abstract: Objective :To investigate the chemical constituents from Notopterygium root.Methods : The compounds were isolated by chromatography and recrystallisation,and their structures were identified on the basis of physicochemical characteristics and spectroscopic analyses.Results :Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as(±)apterin(1),isopimpinellin(2),ferulic acid(3),phellopterin(4),pimpinellin(5),sphondin(6),bergapten(7),isobergapten(8),fumaric acid(9),isopsoralen(10)and(±)vaginidiol(11).Conclusion :Most of the chemical compositions of Notopterygium root phenylpropanoids,and(±)apterin(1),fumaric acid(9),isopsoralen(10)and(±)vaginidiol(11) are obtained from the plant of Notopterygium root for the first time.

Abstract: OBJECTIVE To determine the content of isopimpinellin in root of Toddalia asiatica. METHODS A HPLC method was set up. Using Hypersil C18 column and methanol-water (70:30) as mobile phase, with the detection wavelength at 306 nm. RESULT The linear range of isopimpinellin was 0.004 20 approximately 0.420 microg. The average recovery was 99.7% and the RSD 2.8%. CONCLUSION The method is simple and accurate, with good reproducibility, and can be used as a quantitative analysis method for isopimpinellin.

Abstract: The crude n-hexane and methanol extracts of the aerial parts of plant, Pimpinella monoica Dalz. (Umbelliferae) showed significant feeding deterrency to Spodopiera litura F. larvae. Phytochemical investigation of these extracts has resulted into the isolation of one furanocoumarin and five biogenetically related furanochromones. Furanocoumarin, isopimpinellin was found to be most active. Furochromones, visnagin and khellin exhibited significant activity while their hydroxymethyl analogues, khellol and ammiol showed moderate activity. α-Hydroxyisopropyldihydrofurochromone, visamminol was found to be least active.
