TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an approach to adjust the permeate pressure of a swollen polymeric membrane to alter its separation properties, such that both methylene blue and alcohol were passed through the membrane, resulting in no separation.
Abstract: Preparation of polymeric membranes with dynamically adjustable separation properties is a new area of research. The approach described herein involves adjusting the permeate pressure of a swollen polymeric membrane to alter its separation properties. For example, during the separation of methylene blue from isopropyl alcohol, pressure on the permeate side was increased such that both methylene blue and alcohol were passed, resulting in no separation. The permeate pressure then was decreased and only colorless isopropyl alcohol passed through the membrane. A subsequent increase in the pressure on the permeate side results in no separation once again demonstrating that the effects were fully reversible. In a mixed dye experiment in isopropyl alcohol, methylene blue and rose bengal were separated with the lower-molecular-weight methylene blue permeating with isopropyl alcohol while the rose bengal was retained in the feed. The new membranes are distinguished by improved control of separation paramet...

Abstract: Overbased zinc diorganophosphorodithioates are prepared from a diorganophosphorodithioic acid and basic zinc compound in the presence of isopropyl alcohol. The reaction products obtained are used as additives for lubricating oils to impart useful properties thereto.

TL;DR: In this paper, low porosity α- and β-SiAION composite material was prepared when the powder mixture intended for preparation of yttrium α-SiAlON, with the formula Y0.4Si12−m+n Alm+nOnN16−n, was attritor milled in isopropyl alcohol or contained excess oxygen (n > 0.6).
Abstract: Low porosity α- and β-SiAION composite material was prepared when the powder mixture intended for preparation of yttrium α-SiAlON, with the formula Y0.4Si12–m+n Alm+nOnN16–n, was attritor milled in isopropyl alcohol or contained excess oxygen (n > 0.6). The region of stability of single-phase yttrium α-SiAlON was smaller at lower temperatures. Wet milling (in isopropyl alcohol) of AIN powder was found to introduce excess oxygen into the milled powder.

TL;DR: A composition that has insect repellent properties is made from essential volatile oils as discussed by the authors, which includes a combination of menthol, eucalyptus oil, citronella oil and/or tea tree oil, alcohol, water and skin moisturizing components.
Abstract: A composition that has insect repellent properties is made from essential volatile oils. The inventive composition includes a combination of menthol, eucalyptus oil, citronella oil and/or tea tree oil, alcohol, water and skin moisturizing components. Menthol in crystal or liquid form. Essential oil of eucalyptus. Essential oil of citronella and/or tea tree oil. Isopropyl alcohol, grain alcohol or any other type of distilled alcohol. Deionized, distilled or any other type of sterile water. Skin conditioning oils including but not limited to mineral oil, jojoba oil, glycerin, Vitamin E. The topical composition can be formulated as a solution, suspension, cream, ointment, gel, film or spray.
