TL;DR: In this paper, the poisoning effect of Co3O4 on both supports and the activity of the catalysts is discussed, and the vapour phase decomposition of isopropyl alcohol over these catalysts was studied.
Abstract: Catalysts containing 20 wt.% Co3O4 supported on γ-Al2O3 and MgO were prepared. The catalyst precursors were analyzed by TG, DTG and DTA, and the calcined catalysts (400-700 °C) were characterized by XRD. The amount of excess surface oxygen for the catalysts was estimated iodometrically. The vapour-phase decomposition of isopropyl alcohol over these catalysts was studied. Co3O4/γ-Al2O3 catalysts are selective towards propene formation, whereas Co3O4/MgO catalysts are selective towards acetone formation. The poisoning effect of Co3O4 on both supports and the activity of the catalysts is discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, coal was extracted with benzene or alcohol-benzene mixtures at room temperature and the results showed that smaller alcohols may permeate into the pores of the coals more extensively and cause greater swelling than larger alcohols.
Abstract: Coals were extracted with alcohol–benzene mixtures at room temperature For coals of high oxygen content, Yallourn and Taiheiyo coals, the extraction yields for the mixtures were much greater than those for alcohols and benzene alone This synergistic effect was more marked for less bulky alcohols: The order was methanol>ethanol>isopropyl alcohol>t-butyl alcohol The degree of swelling and the apparent density of the coals in alcohols were measured The results show that smaller alcohols may permeate into pores of the coals more extensively and cause greater swelling than larger alcohols It is reasonable to consider that this swelling of the coals then facilitates the extraction with benzene or alcohol–benzene mixtures, which are better solvents in solubility for coal molecules than alcohols For Shin-yubari coal having low oxygen content, no such a synergistic effect was observed, probably due to the lower degree of swelling of this coal

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method for liquid cleaning compositions with low pH, i.e., about 9.5 or below, and which consist essentially of, on a weight basis, about 3-10% surfactant, 1-3% isopropyl alcohol, 1 -3% citric acid, 0.5 to 1.6% sodium tetraborate,0.2% anhydrous sodium hydroxide, and 84 to 95% water.
Abstract: This invention relates to liquid cleaning compositions and more particularly, to compositions that have a low pH, i.e., about 9.5 or below, and which consist essentially of, on a weight basis, about 3-10% surfactant, 1-3% isopropyl alcohol, 1-3% citric acid, 0.5 to 1.6% sodium tetraborate, 0.02 to 1.2% anhydrous sodium hydroxide, 0 to 1.0% anhydrous ammonium hydroxide and 84 to 95% water.

TL;DR: In this article, a core/shell-structure-containing Fe/SiO2 composite nano particles with high stability and its preparing process which comprises, using ferric salt as raw material, organic acid as complexing agent, absolute ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol as dissolvent so as to form uniform nonaqueous gel, charging silicic acid ethyl acetate, evaporating and dehydrating to form gel, preparatory roasting in air to remove the organics, deacidizing at different temperature in H2 atmosphere.
