Abstract: A novel anti-HIV alkaloid, drymaritin (1), and a new C-glycoside flavonoid, diandraflavone (2), along with eight known compounds, torosaflavone A, isovitexin, spinasterol beta-d-glycoside, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, cis-p-coumarate, methyl 5-hydroxy-4-oxopentanoate, and glycerol-alpha-lignocerate, were isolated from Drymaria diandra. Drymaritin (1) exhibited anti-HIV effects in H9 lymphocytes with an EC(50) value of 0.699 microg/mL and a TI of 20.6. Compound 2 showed significantly selective inhibition on superoxide anion generation from human neutrophils stimulated by fMLP/CB with an IC(50) value of 10.0 microg/mL.

Abstract: Phytochemical investigation of the whole plants of Crotalaria sessiliflora L. led to the isolation of four flavonoids. The structures of these compounds were identified as 2′,4′,5,7-tetrahydroxyisoflavone (1), 2′,4′,7-trihydroxyisoflavone (2), 4′,7-dihydroxyflavone (3), and isovitexin (4) using spectroscopic analysis. Among these, compounds2, and3 have not been reported from.Crotalaria species, whereas compounds1, and4 were reported from this plant for the first time.

Abstract: AIM: To determine the contents of orientin,isoorientin,isovitexin in Bamboo Leaf from different sources. METHODS : Orientin,isoorientin,isovitexin were determined by HPLC. The mobile phase was MeOH-H_2O-HAc (35∶65∶1). The detective wavelength was at 340nm. RESULTS : The highest content of three favonoids was 0.89% and the lowest content was 0.07% from different sources. CONCLUSION : This method is simple,quick and accurate for determination of the three favonoids in Bamboo Leaf from different sources.
