TL;DR: In this paper , the chemical investigation of ethyl acetate extracts of the roots and stem bark of Prosopis juliflora Swartz D.C (Fabaceae) led to the isolation of a new flavonoid, prosojuliflavone (1) and a new natural indole alkaloid dimer, N,N-Bis(2-(1H-indol-3-yl) ethyl) oxalamide (2) along with eight known compounds including three flavonoids, vitexin (3), a mixture of viteexin and isovitexIN (4), 4ʹ-O-methyl-ent-gallocathechin (5), two indole alkaloids, N-acetyltryptamine (6), tryptamine (7), a disaccharide, sucrose (8), two monoglycerides, hyloglyceride (9) and 1-(26-hydroxyhexacosanoyl)-glycerol (10).

TL;DR: In this article, a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established for determining contents of vitexin and isovitexins in the leaves, stems, and roots of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan(L.)Millsp).
Abstract: A high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method was established for determining contents of vitexin and isovitexin in the leaves, stems and roots of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan(L.)Millsp). The analytes were separated on a HIQ Sil C18V(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) column, using methanol-water-formic acid(35 ∶64.74 ∶0.26,volume ratio),as mobile phase, detection wavelength 330 nm,flow rate 1 mL/min,injection volume 10 μL,and column temperature 30 ℃. The calibration curves of vitexin and isovitexin showed good linearity within the ranges of 2-200 mg/L. For vitexin, relative standard deviation(RSD) of precision was not higher than 2.93 %,RSD of repeatability was 2.91 %,and recovery was 97.38 %; for isovitexin,RSD of precision was not higher than 2.69 %,RSD of repeatability was 3.37 %,and recovery was 98.63 %. Mass factions of vitexin and isovitexin in pigeonpea leaves, stems and roots were 0.768,0.066,0.183 mg/g and 0.799,0.139,0.013 mg/g,respectively. Pigeonpea leaves contain much higher amounts of vitexin and isovitexin than stems and roots, which could be developed as a good resource for obtaining vitexin and isovitexin on large scale.

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) method was developed to determine the discriminating factors of Ficus deltoidea Jack (FD) varieties.
Abstract: Ficus deltoidea Jack (FD) is a highly potential herb. However, there is serious confusion on selecting the right plant as FD occurs in several varieties. In this study, a high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) method was developed to determine the discriminating factors of FD varieties. Eight varieties of methanol extract, five varieties of water extract and marker compounds, vitexin and isovitexin were analysed. Chemometric analysis; principal component (PCA), hierarchical cluster (HCA) and discriminant (DA) on HPTLC R f value were performed. For methanol extracts, total variance of PCA score was 66.78% and clustered apart from each other. Total variance of water extract was 82.25%, which grouped into three clusters. HCA analysis produced three clusters for both types of extracts. Discriminant analysis revealed that methanol and water extracts were 100% discriminated. This finding suggests that the discriminant factors between methanol extracts were unidentified compounds at R f value of 0.51, 0.72 and isovitexin. Meanwhile, isovitexin and vitexin were identified as discriminant factors for water extract.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for extracting and preparing isovitexin from patrinia villosa juss is presented, which does not need large preparative equipment such as preparative high performance liquid and high-speed countercurrent chromatography.
Abstract: The invention discloses a method for extracting and preparing isovitexin from patrinia villosa juss. The isovitexin with over 98% of purity is obtained by taking patrinia villosa juss as a raw material and combining microwave-assisted extraction, polyamide resin enrichment and recrystallization; the technology is simple and does not need large preparative equipment such as preparative high performance liquid and high-speed countercurrent chromatography, the problem of limitation on equipment is solved, and the dosage of toxic and harmful organic solvent is greatly reduced; and moreover, the adopted organic solvent is easily recycled, thus the cost is lower, and the method is more economical and easier, safer and more environmentally friendly to use.
