TL;DR: In this paper, the relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun was investigated with different milling methods of rice flour using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and diastase method.
Abstract: The relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun investigated with different milling methods of rice flour. The relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun was reduced in order that of W-C, W-P, D-M, D-J in DSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry) method while W-C, D-M, D-J, W-P in Diastase method. In wet milling method, the relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun by pin mill (W-P) was lower than Jeungpyun by colloid mill (W-C). In dry milling method, the relative retrogration of Jeungpyun by jet mill (D-J) was lower than Jeungpyun by micro mill(D-M). The relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun by DSC method was similar to the diastase method. The relative retrogradation of Jeungpyun was decreased with decreasing particle size and setback value for amylogram and increasing damaged starch.

TL;DR: An improved metal matrix composite which utilizes boron carbide as the ceramic additive to a base material metal is described in this article, where the authors use a conventional blender to uniformly mix powders and avoid stratification and settling.
Abstract: An improved metal matrix composite which, in a preferred embodiment disclosed herein, utilizes boron carbide as the ceramic additive to a base material metal The metal matrix composite of the present invention begins with the preparation of the boron carbide powder by particle size selection in a jet mill The resulting powder and metal powder are then mixed by blending of powder of all the various elements such as by means of a conventional blender to uniformly mix powdered substances and avoid stratification and settling After the particles have been sufficiently mixed, they are degassed and then placed into a die and then into a cylindrical container where the particulates are subjected to extremely high pressures transforming the elements into a solid ingot It is from these ingots that the extrusion tubes or other articles of manufacture may then be made

TL;DR: In this article, a polysaccharide such as cellulose or chitin is pulverized to fine particles in two stages and the objective is to obtain a powder whose size is fit for utilization as a modifying material is easily obtd.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart shape and size fit for a modifying material to an org. substance to be pulverized without deteriorating characteristics peculiar to the stock by pulverizing the org. substance with a rolling ball mill, etc., and further pulverizing it with a jet mill. SOLUTION: A polysaccharide such as cellulose or chitin as an org. substance to be pulverized is pulverized to about 20μm average particle diameter with a rolling ball mill, a tube mill, a rod mill or a hammer mill. The pulverized substance is further pulverized to about <=10μm average particle diameter with a jet mill. The org. substance is pulverized to fine particles in two stages and the objective org. powder whose size is fit for utilization as a modifying material is easily obtd.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to produce the silica excellent in tranparecy and jet-blackness by dropping an alkali metal silicate together with sulfuric acid to simultaneously cause neutralization.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce the silica excellent in tranparecy and jet-blackness. CONSTITUTION:The silica having the total vol. of micropores with diameters of 20-3,000Angstrom of 1.5cc/g or higher, a ratio of the total vol. of micropores with diameters of 100-3,000Angstrom to the total vol. of all the micropores of 50% or higher, and a ratio of the total vol. of micropores with diameters of 300Angstrom or higher to the total vol. of all the micropores of 20% or higher is produced by dropping an alkali metal silicate together with sulfuric acid to simultaneously cause neutralization to thereby produce a silica slurry contg. silica with a BET specific surface area of 500m /g or higher, subjecting the slurry to hydrothermal synthesis, and drying and simultaneously grinding the resulting precipitated silica in a jet mill using hot air or superheated steam.

TL;DR: In this article, the spiral jet mill has an integrated separator, the separating wheel of which is driven in rotation about the central shaft of the jet mill and the extractor aperture is arranged coaxially with the shaft (4) of separating wheel.
Abstract: The spiral jet mill (1) has an integrated separator, the separating wheel (5) of which is driven in rotation about the central shaft (4). The rotary movement is produced by a motor (8) with a steplessly variable rotary drive, where the separating wheel (5) dips into the plane (11) into which the fluid flow opens at the periphery of the jet mill (1). The extractor aperture (6) is arranged coaxially with the shaft (4) of the separating wheel (5).

TL;DR: In this article, the conductive powder which is dispersed in an inert vehicle to make a paste and used to form a conductive film by exposure, the powder produced by a chemical method is adjusted with its grain size by a jet mill.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a production method of the conductive powder suitable for the conductive paste used to form the circuit using photolithography technique. CONSTITUTION:In the conductive powder which is dispersed in an inert vehicle to make a paste and used to form a conductive film by exposure, the powder produced by a chemical method is adjusted with its grain size by a jet mill. It is preferable to heat-treat the powder in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere before treating it with the jet mill, and the coarsely pulverizing stage of the powder may be included between the heat treating stage and the jet mill treating stage.

TL;DR: In this article, a vertical type jet mill of pilot plant scale was investigated, where the diameter of the chamber of mill is 26.3 cm. Fluidization of the particles in the chamber has been proposed to enhance the comminution efficiency of the jet mill by promoting the effective contacting of powders with compressed air.
Abstract: Comminution characteristics of diatomaceous earth have been investigated in a vertical type jet mill of pilot plant scale; the diameter of the chamber of mill is 26.3 cm. Fluidization of the particles in the chamber has been proposed to enhance the comminution efficiency of the jet mill by promoting the effective contacting of powders with compressed air as well as the chamber wall. Effects of the pressures or densities of pulverizing-air and fluidizing-air and comminution time on the mean size of the particles and the rate of comminution have been examined. The statistical analysis of pressure fluctuations in the chamber of the mill has been utilized to predict the characteristics of the vertical-type jet mill taking advantage of the fluidization technique. The particle size and comminution rate have been correlated with the operating variables, respectively.
