Abstract: In this work we present a method to investigate the fluid-dynamics of a 3D, real-scale spiral jet mill when caking is occurring. CFD simulations are employed to deeply study the pressure and the velocity fields of the gas phase when the nozzles inlet pressure and the chamber diameter are varied to mimic the condition generated by the aggregates formation during the micronizaton process. The computational model is built replicating the experimental observation consisting in the fact that most of the crusts form on the outer wall of the chamber. Simulations underline that caking causes the deterioration of the classification capabilities of the system if the gas mass flow rate is kept constant at nozzles, allowing larger particles for escaping the system. It is shown that it is possible to mitigate this phenomenon by gradually reducing the gas mass-flow rate to keep constant the nozzles absolute pressure. This keeps unchanged the fluid spin ratio and the classification characteristics when caking is advancing.

Abstract: The utility model relates to a high-purity magnesium hydroxide jet mill. The high-purity magnesium hydroxide jet mill comprises a silo, a jet mill, a pneumatic classification device, a cyclone collection device, a dust connection device and a draught fan, which are connected in sequence, wherein an air filtration device is arranged at an air inlet of an air compressor and comprises a shell and a filter element; an end cover is arranged at the upper end of the shell, and an air outlet is formed at the lower end of the shell; an air inlet is formed in the center of the end cover; the filter element is arranged in the shell; the lower end of the filter element is fixed on the lower bottom surface of the shell and is coaxially arranged together with the air outlet; the filter element is made from breathable materials; the outer wall of the filter element is coated with a filter screen, a filter layer and a filter cloth from inside to outside in sequence; the filter layer is formed by folding at least a layer of filter paper into an end to end ring-shaped fold along the peripheral direction of the outer wall of the filter element; active carbon granules adhere to the filter paper. The high-purity magnesium hydroxide jet mill is installed at the inlet of the air compressor and has the effect of effectively removing dust granules, water and impurities in the air, thus improving the purity of milled magnesium hydroxide.

Abstract: The utility model relates to a novel jet mill with a collecting device. The novel jet mill comprises a mill body, wherein a milling cavity is formed in the mill body; a feed inlet, a milling gas inlet and a discharge opening, which are communicated with the milling cavity, are formed in the mill body; a dust removal pipeline communicated with the milling cavity is arranged at the upper end of the mill body; the technical point of the novel jet mill is as follows: a collecting deice used for adsorbing and collecting dust in the dust removal pipeline is arranged on the dust removal pipeline. The novel jet mill has the advantages as follows: the dust in the dust removal pipeline is collected through the collecting device, so that the utilization rate of the dust material is increased, and pollution caused by gas emission is reduced.
