TL;DR: In this article, a high strength isotropic graphite material was used as the material of a piston member for a gasoline engine, which is suitable for use as a piston for an engine.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To industrially produce a high strength isotropic graphite material having such superior material strength as ≥120MPa bending strength and suitable for use as the material of a piston member for a gasoline engine. CONSTITUTION: Carbonaceous fine powder as an aggregate component is kneaded with a pitch binder, powdery starting material prepd. by crushing the kneaded material again is subjected to rubber press compacting and the resulting compact is baked, carbonized and graphitized to produce an isotropic graphite material. In this producing process, mosaic coke pulverized to ≤1μm average particle diameter and ≤5μm max. particle diameter with a jet mill and having ≥1.2×10 4 esu/cm 2 surface average intensity in an electrostatic field is used as the aggregate component. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a method for milling a material in a jet mill, where temperature of the mill is less than 100 degree Celsius and pressure of an operating medium is lower than or equal to 4 bar.
Abstract: The method involves milling a material in a jet mill (1) e.g. oval tube mill, spiral jet mill, fluidized-bed opposed-jet mill and dense-bed jet mill, where temperature of the mill is less than 100 degree Celsius and pressure of an operating medium is less than or equal to 4 bar. Constant amount of milled powder passes through a surface area of a classifying rotor (8) of a dynamic air classifier (7) of the jet mill during milling. A coating agent or a doping agent is added to the material during milling. The medium is selected from the group consisting of air, argon, helium, and nitrogen. An independent claim is also included for a jet mill comprising a blower.

TL;DR: In this article, an equipment and a method for producing ultra fine dry powders by means of an energetic power gas using an opposed jet mill (2.3) and a classifier and a device (5, 6) for separating gas and solids connected thereto.
Abstract: The invention concerns an equipment and a method for producing ultra fine dry powders by means of an energetic power gas using an opposed jet mill (2.3) and a classifier (3) and a device (5, 6) for separating gas and solids connected thereto. The invention is characterized in that the device for separating gas and solids from each other (5, 6) comprises at least one ion jet tube (5, 6) with a concentrically extending high voltage electrode (5.4) provided with a large number of radial ion jet tips (5, 6), whereby the solid particles of the gas solid suspension led at a low speed through the ion jet tube (5, 6) are attached to the inner walls of the tube (5, 6) at the influence of ion jets developed by the ion jet tips (5.6), from which walls the particles are easily recoverable in exactly limited fractions, and the purified power gas is arranged to discharge from the opposite end of the ion jet tube (5, 6), and that in order to control the operation of the equipment an on-line operating measuring and analysing device (4), coupled to a control unit of the equipment, is mounted into the discharge channel (3.5) for the fine fraction in order to determine the particle size and the fineness of the solid particles of the gas-solid suspension flowing through the discharge channel (3.5).

TL;DR: In this article, a clean fuel capable of readily handling in transportation and storage and carrying out spray drying by powdering the fuel so as to have small particle size is obtained by using jet mill or vibration ball mill.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a clean fuel capable of readily handling in transportation and storage and carrying out spray drying by powdering the fuel so as to have small particle size CONSTITUTION:A plastic, preferably consisting of polyolefin based, polystyrene based or vinyl chloride based waste plastic or waste tire, etc, is powdered into globular, elliptical or cubic form having <=2000mum particle diameter using jet mill or vibration ball mill Furthermore, when the resultant plastic powder fuel is dispersed into water, methanol and (aqueous emulsion of) fuel oil, fluid fuel is obtained and when the fuel is mixed with fine-powder solid fuel, powder fuel is obtained

TL;DR: In this paper, a fluidized bed jet mill with a grinding chamber free of internals, in the bottom region of which a nozzle with a gas jet emerging vertically upward is arranged.
Abstract: The invention relates to a fluidized bed jet mill with a grinding chamber free of internals, in the bottom region of which a nozzle with a gas jet emerging vertically upward is arranged. The grinding chamber is completely filled up to such a height with the material to be shredded that material and gas emerge from the bed as low-speed fountains, these fountains being provided for feeding one above the surface of the bed, regardless of the impulse from the floor nozzle escaping jet operated sifter is used. In order to improve the energy utilization during grinding, a number of further jet nozzles are arranged, which open below the surface of the material bed into the grinding chamber and whose openings are evenly distributed in a plane running perpendicular to the axis of the floor nozzle on a circle coaxial to this axis, their axes intersect at a point on the axis of the floor nozzle below the plane of the nozzle orifices.
