TL;DR: This paper summarizes recent work on the theory of epsilon entropy for probability distributions on complete separable metric spaces in order to have a framework for discussing the quality of data storage and transmission systems.
Abstract: This paper summarizes recent work on the theory of epsilon entropy for probability distributions on complete separable metric spaces. The theory was conceived [3] in order to have a framework for discussing the quality of data storage and transmission systems. The concept of data source was defined in [4] as a probabilistic metric space: a complete separable metric space together with a probability distribution under which open sets are measurable, so that the Borel sets are measurable. An a partition of such a space is a partition by measurable a sets, which, depending on context, can be sets of diameter at most e or sets of radius at most ie, that is, sets contained in spheres of radius 2e. The entropy H(U) of a partition U is the Shannon entropy of the probability of the distribution consisting of the measures of the sets of the partition. The (one shot) epsilon entropy of X with distribution A, He;,,(X), is defined by (1.1) He;p(X) = inf {H(U); U an c partition} U

TL;DR: In this paper, some Simple Singular and Mixed Probability Distributions (SSPDP) are presented. But they do not consider the problem of estimating the probability distributions of a single probability distribution.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for fitting chi-square (or gamma) distributions to observed distributions, either positively or negatively skewed, of telecommunication variables such as critical frequencies and maximum usable frequencies is presented.
Abstract: A method is presented for fitting chi-square (or gamma) distributions to observed distributions, either positively or negatively skewed, of telecommunication variables such as critical frequencies and maximum usable frequencies. These observed distributions have been recorded for years only in terms of the 10, 50, and 90% points, but in applications it is necessary to estimate the entire distribution. It is assumed in the present study that the observed variable can be approximated by a linear function of a chi-square variable with unknown degrees of freedom. The three unknown constants are determined from the three per cent points and a convenient table. Several examples of complete observed distributions are compared graphically with normal, chi-square, Gram-Charlier, and Edgeworth fitted distributions.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simulation method and system of radar sea clusters is presented. But the simulation method is limited to a single radar sea cluster and the simulation degree of sea cluster simulation is not improved.
Abstract: The invention discloses a simulation method and system of radar sea clusters. The method comprises: generating a random sequence of a composite K distribution model; generating a random sequence with a space correlation characteristic out of the generated random sequence through a space correlation filter; and performing Kai distribution power modulation on the random sequence with the space correlation characteristic to obtain a sea cluster space image. By using the simulation method and system provided by the invention, the multiple texture characteristics and statistics characteristic of the sea clusters can be accurately described, and the simulation degree of sea cluster simulation is improved.
