Abstract: THE relationship of injuries of the brain to death, palsy, disorders in psychologic functioning, and convulsive seizures has been known since antiquity. Obstetric factors at delivery have also been accepted as causes of brain injury for centuries. These factors, mechanical in nature, caused the lacerations, hemorrhages, and asphyxias which were said to be responsible for death and cerebral dysfunction. While these relationships

TL;DR: From the results obtained, it seems justifiable that where a varicocele is associated with subfertile patients with associated Varicocele thevaricocele should be cured.
Abstract: A group of subfertile patients with associated varicocele is discussed. The operation used in all patients was high ligation of the main spermatic vessels. This operation is simple, effective, and without danger to the testicle. The number of cases presented is small, but it, is some years since the first operation was done, and to collect a large series is a slow procedure. From the results obtained it seems justifiable that where a varicocele is associated with subfertility the varicocele should be cured.

TL;DR: Six cases in which oil granuloma simulated cancer are described, and a feature common to all the cases was the failure to elicit the history of previous treatment with oily substances, or, when it was known, to recognize its significance.
Abstract: Six cases in which oil granuloma simulated cancer are described. The oil was introduced into the tissues therapeutically in every case. In four cases biopsy was not undertaken, and the patient underwent unnecessarily radical surgical treatment before the true nature of the lesion was recognized (excision of rectum in two, radical mastectomy in one, and castration in one). Timely histological examination enabled the granulomatous nature of the tumour to be recognized in the other two cases, and radical surgery was avoided. It is probable that radical treatment would have been avoided in all these cases had the possibility of a granuloma been considered and biopsy performed. A feature common to all the cases was the failure to elicit the history of previous treatment with oily substances, or, when it was known, to recognize its significance. Other types of tumour-mimicking granulomas are mentioned briefly. REFERENCEs Aaron, J. B., and Levine, W. (1954). Amer. J. Obstet. Gynec., 68, 1594. Andrewvs, G. C. (1954).
