TL;DR: In this paper, the critical behavior and the Landau theory of Pr 0.63 A 0.07 Sr 0.3 MnO 3 (A=Pr, Sm and Bi) compounds were studied using the magnetic field dependent isothermal magnetization around Curie temperature T C, based on various techniques.

TL;DR: In this article, a phenomenological description of the first-order magnetocrystalline transition that occurs in the Gd-5 (6Ge1-x)(4) (0.24 < x < 0.5) alloys is presented.
Abstract: With the help of the Landau-Devonshire theory, in this paper we produce a good phenomenological description of the first-order magnetocrystalline transition that occurs in the Gd-5(SixGe1-x)(4) (0.24 < x < 0.5) alloys, and derive the magnetic phase diagram in a magnetic field versus temperature presentation. The description reproduces not only the field-induced magnetic transition and the temperature-induced transition, but also the magnetic hysteresis and the thermal hysteresis. Also, it gives the critical external field and the critical temperature for the magnetic hysteresis and the thermal hysteresis.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that any multi-resolution analysis of L2(R) produces, for some values of the filling factor, a single-electron wave function of the lowest Landau level (LLL) which, together with its (magnetic) translation, gives rise to an orthonormal set in the LLL.
Abstract: In this article we prove that any multi-resolution analysis of L2(R) produces, for some values of the filling factor, a single-electron wave function of the lowest Landau level (LLL) which, together with its (magnetic) translation, gives rise to an orthonormal set in the LLL. We also discuss the inverse construction. Moreover, we extend this procedure to the higher Landau levels and we discuss the analogies and the differences between this procedure and the one previously proposed by J.-P. Antoine and the author.

TL;DR: In this article, the order-disorder phase transitions of spinel-type (I) chlorides Li2MIICl4 (MII =Mg, Mn, Cd) to Li2MnBr4cF56 (II) and disordered, deficient NaCl structure (III) at elevated temperatures are characterized by X-ray diffraction, dilatometry, thermoanalytical, and Raman spectroscopic studies, and are discussed with respect to cation distribution, lithium ion motion, anharmonic interaction of vibrational modes, and

TL;DR: In this paper, a Landau theory describing the two phase transitions in terms of order parameters used in the theory of smectic liquid crystals is presented, which is similar to the one described in this paper.
Abstract: The hydrocarbon parts of (C10H21NH3)2CdCl4 and (C10H21NH3)2CuCl4 represent smectic lipid bi-layers exhibiting two structural phase transitions analogous to those in biomembranes. A13C nuclear magnetic resonance study showed that in the Cd compound the low-temperature transitions is connected with a disordering of the polar heads whereas the high-temperature transition corresponds to a partial melting of the alkyl chains. In the Cu compound the sequence of the two successive transitions is reversed. A Landau theory describing the two transitions in terms of order parameters used in the theory of smectic liquid crystals is presented.
