TL;DR: In this paper, a landing gear is characterized by the fact that it comprises at least one shock absorber, which is mounted in the leg (1) and casing (2) assembly by means of two convex surfaces (22, 31) made on the cylinder (16), cooperating with two concave surfaces (25, 32) integral with the leg and the casing.
Abstract: The invention concerns a landing gear. The landing gear is characterized essentially by the fact that it comprises at least one shock absorber (15), this shock absorber being mounted in the leg (1) and casing (2) assembly by means of two convex surfaces (22, 31) made on the cylinder (16) of the shock absorber (15) and cooperating with two concave surfaces (25, 32) integral respectively with the leg (1) and the casing (2). This landing gear finds an application as a nose gear of the rocker-beam type.

TL;DR: In this article, the same geometry is imported to ANSYS ICEM and flow on the body is analyzed for different angle of attack. But, the results of the analysis are limited.
Abstract: Tri-cycle arrangement landing gear is extensively used as it is simple; convenient both structurally as well as aerodynamically. Though it is advantageous over other configuration is has its own draw backs. Factors like its weight drag, sudden application of load, acoustics, fatigue etc tend to slow down its performance and life. Among main landing gear and nose landing gear; the former carries about 85% of total weight of aircraft and latter carries around 12-15% of weight. The nose landing gear is also a source of noise and its effect is prominent when compared to main landing gear. In this project the executive jet aircraft are studied thoroughly and a nose landing gear similar to those of executive jets is modeled using CATIA. The same geometry is imported to ANSYS ICEM and flow on the body is analyzed for different angle of attack. Pressure variation, temperature, density and velocity distribution around the body is noted and then Coefficient for Lift and Drag are plotted against angle of attack for obtained results. It is also important to check the strength and stiffness of designed landing gear. Hence using ANSYS APDL and Explicit; Static structural and Impact test has been carried out for designed geometry. Stress distribution and deformation was noted for two distinct materials such as steel and aluminum alloy and primary results of acoustics has been compared with the available data.

TL;DR: A new skyhook controller is presented, called the skyhook extended controller, for a helicopter with multiple landing gears equipped with MR dampers to reduce the helicopter’s acceleration at the center of gravity in off-normal landing attitude conditions.
Abstract: Due to their extensive use in various applications, helicopters need to be able to land in a variety of conditions. Typically, a helicopter landing gear system with skids or passive wheel-dampers is designed based on only one critical touchdown condition. Thus, this helicopter landing gear system may not perform well in different landing conditions. A landing gear system with magnetorheological (MR) dampers would be a promising candidate to solve this problem. However, a semi-active controller must be designed to determine the electrical current applied to the MR damper to directly manage the damping force. This paper presents a new skyhook controller, called the skyhook extended controller, for a helicopter with multiple landing gears equipped with MR dampers to reduce the helicopter’s acceleration at the center of gravity in off-normal landing attitude conditions. A 9-DOF simulation model of a helicopter with multiple MR landing gears was built using RECURDYN. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller, co-simulations were executed with RECURDYN and MATLAB in different initial pitch and roll angles at touchdown. The main simulation results show that the proposed controller can greatly decrease the peak and rms acceleration of the helicopter’s center of gravity compared to a traditional skyhook controller and passive damper.
