TL;DR: In this article, a closed queuing network performance model was developed at American Airlines to evaluate the performance of large complex flow shops and applied to predict performance and to estimate capacity of the landing gear shop and the engine blade and vane shop.
Abstract: A closed queuing network performance model was developed at American Airlines to evaluate the performance of large complex flow shops. The model has been successfully applied to predict performance and to estimate capacity of the landing gear shop and the engine blade and vane shop.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-body approach for the study of the dynamic behavior of a fixed landing gear, especially the research project concerns the drop tests of the AP.68 TP-300 aircraft.
Abstract: This work deals with the eectiveness of a multi-body approach for the study of the dynamic behavior of a fixed landing gear, especially the research project concerns the drop tests of the AP.68 TP-300 aircraft. First, the Digital Mock-up of the of landing gear system in a C.A.D. software has been created, then the experimental structural stiness of the leaf spring has been validated using the FEM tools MSC.Patran/Nastran. Finally, the entire model has been imported in MSC.ADAMS environment and, according to the certifying regulations, several multi-body simulations have been performed varying the heights of fall and the weights of the system. The results have shown a good correlation between numerical and experimental tests, thus demonstrating the potential of a multi-body approach. Future development of the present activity will probably be an application of the methodology, herein validated, to other cases for a more extensive validation of its predictive power and development of virtual certification procedures.

TL;DR: In this article, a photoelectric encoder, the displacement test wheel, the guiding press wheel and the rolling-shaped tension spring are fixed to the main shaft of an airplane landing gear by a detachable movable connecting component.
Abstract: The utility model relates to a travel test unit of a landing gear drop impact buffer, which is characterized in that a photoelectric encoder is connected with a displacement test wheel. A displacement transmission strip is contacted with the displacement test wheel in a flexible sliding friction mode. A rolling-shaped tension spring is connected with the displacement transmission strip. The upper side and the lower side of the displacement test wheel are respectively provided with a guiding press wheel. The photoelectric encoder, the displacement test wheel, the guiding press wheel and the rolling-shaped tension spring are fixed to a main shaft of a landing gear by a detachable movable connecting component so as to ensure that the structure and the strength of landing gear airplane wheels can not be damaged. The utility model has the advantages that the displacement test wheel is contacted with the displacement transmission strip in a flexible mode, and therefore, the photoelectric encoder can exactly measure rotation pulse data by the rotation angle variation of the displacement test wheel under the condition of strong impact vibration. The dynamic variation process of the momentary landing gear buffer travel of airplane landing can be calculated by a computer.
