TL;DR: Challenges to and opportunities in implementing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in the Army Acquisition Corps (AAC) are examined, which is a key part of the Army's business transformation.
Abstract: : The United States Army is in a state of transformation as it meets current challenges and prepares for the future. On July 11th, 2005, the Secretary of the Army published a memorandum in which he stated that the Army is transforming the force structure to realize the Army Vision. He continued to say that the business end of the Army was vital to providing ready forces. Consequently, to provide responsive, innovative, and efficient institutional support for these forces the Army must transform the way it does business. This paper examines challenges to and opportunities in implementing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in the Army Acquisition Corps (AAC), which is a key part of the Army's business transformation. To provide a context for this examination, the paper first identifies current Department of Defense and U.S. Army business transformation policies. Then it addresses challenges for implementing LSS in the acquisition community, specifically the major sources of resistance to change and methodologies for overcoming these sources of resistance. From this examination, the paper discusses programmatic and organizational opportunities for implementing LSS. The author concludes by providing recommendations for greater implementation of LSS into the AAC.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors have focused on checking feasibility of Lean Six Sigma in hospitals, and they have made an extreme effort to reduce variation in service quality using quality management tool Lean six Sigma (LSS) in registration counter at hospitals.
Abstract: Most of previous researches on Lean Six Sigma focused on various perspective of Six Sigma, lean philosophy then role of Lean Six Sigma in sustainability but never paid much attention in field of health service sector, e.g., hospital. This article concentrates on checking feasibility of Six Sigma in hospitals. Defects and loopholes in hospital and healthcare industries can sentence a difference between a life and death. Since to mitigate mishaps and increase patient experiences during the visit of hospitals, this research is an extreme effort to reduce variation in service quality using quality management tool Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in registration counter at hospitals. Data-driven methodology approach and applicability of LSS in service sector encompass not only the people but information and resource utilization. This is a mainstream pillar to be used as a methodology for research. DMAIC tool was found useful to enhance service quality during the study. Improvisation of outcomes is comparatively discussed in a chronological sense for ease of understanding. This research work will contribute to academia as well as service sectors like hospitals, restaurants, banks etc.
