Abstract: The objective of this research work is to evaluate the quality of central concrete plant of Al-Rasheed Company by using Six Sigma approach which is a measure of quality that strives for near elimination of defects using the statistical methods to improve outputs that are critical to customers. The fundamental objective of Six Sigma methodology is the implementation of a measurement-based strategy that focuses on process improvement and variation reduction to reach delighting customers, and then suggesting an improvement system to improve the production of concrete in Al-Rasheed State Contracting Construction Company. A field survey includes two parts (open and close questionnaire) that aimed to get the data and information required for achieving the research where the answers of questionnaire sample have led, during the application of DMAIC improvement cycle, to identifying the potential possible reasons that caused quality deviations in concrete works. Two programs have been used: First, ‘Sigma Level Calculator’ which is formulated by the researcher to measure the components of the processes performance. Second, ‘QI Macros Lean Six Sigma SPC Software 2011’ which uses the statistical tools of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology for: identifying the root causes of defects, analyzing the data, determining capability and stability of process. It is concluded that the processes sigma level for the concrete works quality is 2.41 σ and 181,070 DPMO which is considered too bad as compared with the current global competition.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focused on how the ISO 9001:2008 standard has influenced organisational Lean Six Sigma (LSS) implementation success and found that certified companies are aware of continuous improvements to tools, which ensures the continuity of improvements made by the LSS project and facilitates the integration of Lean Six-Sigma tools.
Abstract: Abstract This study focused on how the ISO 9001:2008 standard has influenced organisational Lean Six Sigma (LSS) implementation success. Data were collected through a survey, followed by interviews with the quality managers/representatives of 85 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the textile industry. Additionally, case studies on four of the textile SMEs were carried out to validate the results. Our analysis revealed that the main benefits of LSS, among others, are problem solving improvement, reduction of the quality problem, waste reduction, and increase of productivity. However, certified companies are aware of continuous improvements to tools, which ensures the continuity of improvements made by the LSS project and facilitates the integration of Lean Six Sigma tools, which can help to make better use of the Lean Six Sigma project. The type of article produced was also found to have a considerable effect on the success of the Lean Six Sigma project.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors reviewed the latest management developments across the globe and pinpointed practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies, and presented the very best, most pertinent information in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
Abstract: Purpose: This paper aims to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies. Design: This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context. Findings: Manufacturing subsidiary in South East Europe shows financial, operational and organizational benefits after implementing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) on the chocolate production lines. Originality: The briefing saves busy executives, strategists and researchers hours of reading time by selecting only the very best, most pertinent information and presenting it in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
