Abstract: Factors that were found to influence locomotory responses of Trichoplusia ni (Hubner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) adults toward potential oviposition substrates, and aggregation and egg deposition on those substrates were odor, atmospheric moisture, color, and surface texture. No evidence was observed that chemotactic stimuli provided by ascorbic acid, sinigrin, or sucrose on substrate surfaces affected the oviposition rate.
