TL;DR: In this article, the effects from the heavy field on the dynamics of the light field were studied. But the authors focused on the effect of light field dynamics on the expectation value of light background field.
Abstract: We use the in-in or Schwinger-Keldysh formalism to explore the construction and interpretation of effective field theories for time-dependent systems evolving out of equilibrium. Starting with a simple model consisting of a heavy and a light scalar field taken to be in their free vacuum states at a finite initial time, we study the effects from the heavy field on the dynamics of the light field by analyzing the equation of motion for the expectation value of the light background field. New terms appear which cannot arise from a local action of an effective field theory in terms of the light field, though they disappear in the adiabatic limit. We discuss the origins of these terms as well as their possible implications for time dependent situations such as inflation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the field entropy as a measurement of the degree of entanglement between the light field and the atoms of the system which is composed of two dipole-dipole interacting two-level atoms initially in an entangled state interacting with the single mode coherent field in a Kerr medium.
Abstract: In this paper, we use the field entropy as a measurement of the degree of entanglement between the light field and the atoms of the system which is composed of two dipole–dipole interacting two-level atoms initially in an entangled state interacting with the single mode coherent field in a Kerr medium. The influence of the coupling constant of dipole–dipole interaction between atoms and the coupling strength of the Kerr medium with the light field and the intensity of the light field on the field entropy are discussed by numerical calculations. It is shown that when the coupling strength of the Kerr medium with the light field is large enough and the light field is strong, the degree of entanglement between the atoms with the light field becomes weaker. The degree of entanglement only changes slightly with the change of the coupling constant of dipole–dipole interaction between atoms.

TL;DR: This seminar will provide an introduction to light fields, followed by an in-depth discussion of state-of-the-art light field imaging and display systems, some interesting applications such as AR and VR and the key tradeoffs that have to be considered during the design process.
Abstract: Light fields provide a natural way of representing the information that is captured and processed by the human visual system. Light fields can be acquired using compact imaging systems and the information can be used for a variety of applications including analysis, interpretation and display. Light field display architectures enable true 3D displays that provide a natural and comfortable experience. In both imaging and display, the system design has to consider a complex set of tradeoffs. This seminar will provide an introduction to light fields, followed by an in-depth discussion of state-of-the-art light field imaging and display systems, some interesting applications such as AR and VR and the key tradeoffs that have to be considered during the design process.

TL;DR: In this article, a light field data which represents directions of light beams which are emitted from an object to an image pickup unit and intensity of the light beams is obtained, and the light fields data is corrected on a coordinate of the LFD data.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize novel information processing which uses light field data. To attain the object, light field data which represents directions of light beams which are emitted from an object to an image pickup unit and intensity of the light beams is obtained, and the light field data is corrected on a coordinate of the light field data.

TL;DR: This paper proposes the first deep CNN solution for light field based face recognition, exploiting the richer information available in a lenslet light field image, and for the first time, the exploitation of disparity maps together with 2D-RGB images and depth maps has been considered in the context of a fusion scheme to improve the face recognition performance.
Abstract: The emergence of light field cameras opens new frontiers in terms of biometric recognition. This paper proposes the first deep CNN solution for light field based face recognition, exploiting the richer information available in a lenslet light field image. Additionally, for the first time, the exploitation of disparity maps together with 2D-RGB images and depth maps has been considered in the context of a fusion scheme to further improve the face recognition performance. The proposed solution uses the 2D-RGB central sub-aperture view as well as the disparity and depth maps extracted from the full set of sub-aperture images associated to a lenslet light field. After, feature extraction is performed using a VGG-Face deep descriptor for texture and independently fine-tuned models for disparity and depth maps. Finally, the extracted features are concatenated to be fed into an SVM classifier. A comprehensive set of experiments has been conducted with the IST-EURECOM light field face database, showing the superior performance of the fused deep representation for varied and challenging recognition tasks.
