TL;DR: A new algorithm for detection of double compression in JPEG image for applications in steganalysis is proposed based on the analysis of the influences on absolute histogram brought about by the double compression.
Abstract: This paper proposes a new algorithm for detection of double compression in JPEG image for applications in steganalysis, which based on the analysis of the influences on absolute histogram brought about by the double compression. It compares the histograms of single-compressed and double-compressed images and finds that both the absolute differences of DC and AC coefficients and the absolute differences of AC and AC coefficients change obviously after double compression. Support Vector Machine(SVM) classifiers are trained to detect an image whether double-compressed or not. Experimental results show that the proposed method is better than the algorithm proposed by Pevny T and Fridrich J(IEEE Trans. on Information Forensics and Security,2007,No.2) while the false positive alarm is controlled under 5%.

12 Jul 2009TL;DR: Experimental results show that the proposed coder provides significant improvement in coding efficiency compared with the JPEG_LS coder in compression of laser speckle images.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the problem of lossless compression of laser speckle images produced in displacement measurement. We propose a lossless compression technique of laser speckle images which is based on speckle displacement estimation, temporal prediction and the Golomb entropy coding. In the proposed coder, the fuzzy-logic-based correlation is used for estimation of speckle displacements. Experimental results show that the proposed coder provides significant improvement in coding efficiency compared with the JPEG_LS coder in compression of laser speckle images.

TL;DR: A new method of retrieving JPEG compressed images was proposed, where the features were extracted directly in DCT (Discrete Cosine Transformation) compressed domain, using the characterization of DCT.
Abstract: A new method of retrieving JPEG compressed images was proposed. The features were extracted directly in DCT (Discrete Cosine Transformation) compressed domain, using the characterization of DCT. Instead of fully decompressing JPEG images, this method only needed to do partial entropy decoding. Therefore, the work of retrieving images is accelerated. Also, the efficiency of retrieving is satisfied, with certain robustness.

TL;DR: An approach for lossless and near-lossless compression of still images together with its system-level multi-core hardware model utilizing blending-prediction-based technique and the experimental results confirming the advantages are provided.
Abstract: An approach for lossless and near-lossless compression of still images together with its system-level multi-core hardware model utilizing blending-prediction-based technique is presented in this paper. We provide a mathematical background of the proposed approach and utilize a Network on Chip type of connection in the hardware model which benefits from a new multi-path routing algorithm and heuristic algorithms for core mapping realizing subsequent stages of the compression algorithm. The experimental results confirming the advantages of the proposed approach are provided.

TL;DR: A new JPEG compression method-pre-filtering before compressing was proposed, which can cope with the problem of impairing dependency of noised digital image and can reduce the average length of code in situations when an image impersonal fidelity is superior to classical JPEG algorithm.
Abstract: The algorithm of the JPEG image compression was introduced.A new JPEG compression method-pre-filtering before compressing was proposed, which can cope with the problem of impairing dependency of noised digital image. The new method was simulated under the environment of the experimentation with MATLA.The result indicates that the method can reduce the average length of code in situations when an image impersonal fidelity is superior to classical JPEG algorithm. Many simulation experiments show that the method proposed is simple and fast with few errors.
