TL;DR: This paper presents a 3rd order low-pass continuous-time filter with 4 MHz cut-off frequency, integrated in a 3 μm CMOS process, based on the direct simulation of a doubly-terminated LC ladder using capacitors and fully-balanced, current-controlled transconductance amplifiers with extended linear range.
Abstract: A third-order elliptic low-pass continuous-time filter with a 4-MHz cutoff frequency, integrated in a 3- mu m p-well CMOS process, is presented. The design procedure is based on the direct simulation of a doubly terminated LC ladder filter by capacitors and fully balanced, current-controlled transconductance amplifiers with extended linear range. The on-chip automatic tuning circuit uses a phase-locked loop implemented with an 8.5-MHz controlled oscillator that matches a specific two-integrator loop of the filter. The complete circuit features 70-dB dynamic range (THD >

TL;DR: In this article, a direct three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is applied to the full-wave analysis of various microstrip structures and antennas.
Abstract: A direct three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is applied to the full-wave analysis of various microstrip structures. The method is shown to be an efficient tool for modeling complicated microstrip circuit components and microstrip antennas. From the time-domain results the input impedance of a line-fed rectangular patch antenna and the frequency-dependent scattering parameters of a low-pass filter and a branch-line coupler are calculated. These circuits were fabricated and the measurements made on them are compared with the FDTD results and shown to be in good agreement. >

TL;DR: In this article, a 3rd order low-pass continuous-time filter with 4 MHz cut-off frequency, integrated in a 3?m CMOS process, is presented, based on direct simulation of a doublyterminated LC ladder using capacitors and fully-balanced, current-controlled transconductance amplifiers with extended linear range.
Abstract: This paper presents a 3rd order low-pass continuous-time filter with 4 MHz cut-off frequency, integrated in a 3 ?m CMOS process. The design approach is based on the direct simulation of a doubly-terminated LC ladder using capacitors and fully-balanced, current-controlled transconductance amplifiers with extended linear range. PLL techniques, involving a 8.5 MHz controlled oscillator that matches a specific part of the filter, are used to realize on-chip automatic tuning. The complete circuit features 71 dB dynamic range and consumes only 16 mW from a single 5 V supply.

TL;DR: A combined system consisting of a passive filter and a small-rated active filter that are connected in series is discussed as a method of overcoming power system harmonic interferences caused by harmonic-producing loads such as diode or thyristor converters and cycloconverters.
Abstract: The authors present a combined system with a passive filter and a small-rated active filter, both connected in series with each other. The passive filter removes load produced harmonics just as a conventional filter does. The active filter plays a role in improving the filtering characteristics of the passive filter. This results in a great reduction of the required rating of the active filter and in eliminating all the limitations faced by using only the passive filter, leading to a practical and economical system. The active filter has a much smaller rating than a conventional active filter. Experimental results obtained from a prototype model are shown to verify the theory developed. >

TL;DR: In this article, a simple spectral preserve fusion technique called smoothing filter-based intensity modulation (SFIM) was developed based on a simplified solar radiation and land surface reflection model.
Abstract: Image fusion techniques are widely used to integrate a lower spatial resolution multispectral image with a higher spatial resolution panchromatic image, such as Thematic Mapper (TM) multispectral band and SPOT Panchromatic images. However, the existing techniques either cannot avoid distorting the image spectral properties or involve complicated and time-consuming frequency decomposition and re-construction processing. A simple spectral preserve fusion technique: the Smoothing Filter-based Intensity Modulation (SFIM) has thus been developed based on a simplified solar radiation and land surface reflection model. By using a ratio between a higher resolution image and its low pass filtered (with a smoothing filter) image, spatial details can be modulated to a co-registered lower resolution multispectral image without altering its spectral properties and contrast. The technique can be applied to improve spatial resolution for either colour composites or individual bands. The fidelity to spectral property and...
