TL;DR: In this paper, a magnetic core is composed of the upper and lower layers of the magnetic thin film patterns to be interposed between a coil 2 and these patterns are connected by a back gap part 3 and further exposed to an external part in a slider floating surface 4.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the movement of magnetic domain walls and to obtain a thin film magnetic head, which has a stable output, by obtaining >=one non-magnetic part in an island shape in the middle of a magnetic thin film pattern to constitute a magnetic circuit. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic core 1 is composed of the upper and lower layers of the magnetic thin film patterns to be interposed between a coil 2 and these patterns are connected by a back gap part 3 and further exposed to an external part in a slider floating surface 4. In a gap part 5, the patterns are faced each other with a non- magnetic film to be formed by the alumina film, etc., whose thickness is 0.1-1.0mum around, between. For the magnetic core 1, in order to prevent the lowering of magnetic efficiency in the middle of a way from the gap part 5 toward the back gap part 3, patterning is executed so that the width of the magnetic core can be wide from a place to be separated from the gap part 5 by 10-20mum. Further, in the place where the magnetic core 1 is extended, an island-shaped part 6 of non-magnetism, whose length and width are 2-6mum around, is formed and this island-shaped part 6 is formed simultaneously with the patterning of the magnetic core 1. This non-magnetic island- shaped part 6 prevents the large movement of the magnetic domain walls at the time of head operation and presents the thin film magnetic head to have the stable output.

TL;DR: In this paper, a self-oscillated class C converter for noncontact charging of the rechargeable cell with electromagnetic coupling is proposed, which matches the condition of the transformer, the output voltage is always sinusoidal, and the noise of the circuit and the core loss due to harmonics are small.
Abstract: A converter using a self-oscillated class C converter for noncontact charging of the rechargeable cell with electromagnetic coupling is proposed. The oscillating condition of the circuit matches the condition of the transformer, the output voltage is always sinusoidal, and the noise of the circuit and the core loss of the transformer due to harmonics are small. The oscillating condition as a class C converter is automatically adjusted by a simple bias circuit which is composed of a diode and a resistor. >

TL;DR: A device for reading and writing of information on a magnetic medium such as a disk or tape comprises at least one reading/writing head placed on a base having a catamaran type profile as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A device for reading and writing of information on a magnetic medium such as a disk or tape comprises at least one reading and writing head placed on a base having a catamaran type profile. The head is composed of a magnetic circuit (a winding on a medium) self-positioned and welded to the walls of a hole made in the base, a flow concentrator in contact with the extremities of the magnetic circuit and a pole piece made up of two magnetic parts separated by a magnetic spacer. The pole piece is positioned opposite to the track of the magnetic medium.

TL;DR: In this paper, a magnetorheological fluid damper based on a multi-stage radial flow mode is put forward, compared with traditional ones with annular damping channel which are of low magnetic field utilization and high energy consumption.
Abstract: In this paper, a magnetorheological (MR) fluid damper based on a multi-stage radial flow mode is put forward, compared with traditional ones with annular damping channel which are of low magnetic field utilization and high energy consumption. The equivalent magnetic circuit model is derived, along with the relation between the magnetic induction at the working gap and the exciting current in the field coils. The finite-element software ANYSY is used to analyze the distribution of the magnetic field in the MR valve. The flow differential equation for a MR fluid in radial flow is theoretically set up, and the numerical solution is validated by means of the Herschel–Bulkley constitutive model. A MR damper was designed and fabricated in Chongqing University in accordance with the technical requirements of a railway vehicle anti-yaw damper, and the force–displacement characteristic of the damper was tested with J95-I type shock absorber test-bed. The results show that the experimental damping forces are in good agreement with the analytical ones, and the methodology is believed to help predict the damping force of a MR damper.

TL;DR: A leakage current protection device, such as a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), is provided that can be used in single phase or polyphase systems, with a range of input voltages from 70 to 264 volts AC, frequencies of 50 or 60 hertz, and ground fault trip currents of 6 to 30 milliamperes as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A leakage current protection device, such as a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), is provided that can be used in single phase or polyphase systems, with a range of input voltages from 70 to 264 volts AC, frequencies of 50 or 60 hertz, and ground fault trip currents of 6 to 30 milliamperes. A leading power factor circuit is connected to the secondary winding of the GFCI differential transformer to permit the magnetic circuit to respond to pulsating DC signals. Provision is made for continuing to provide GFCI protection in the event of an open neutral lead, with a timing circuit to prevent current flow to the ground lead until current flow in the neutral lead is completely discontinued. Various types of circuit interrupting devices, such as a circuit breaker or a power converter, may be selectively utilized.
