TL;DR: Observations on Costus lead us to consider the probable existence of a polyploid series, with the recently described C. dirzoi being triploid.
Abstract: Chromosome counts of the following species were done: Costus pictus, C. scaber and C. pulverulentus all have 2n = 18; Costus dirzoi 2n = 27, 28; Calathea ovandensis 2n = 25; Maranta gibba 2n = 40 and Stromanthe macrochlamys 2n = ca. 60, ca. 63. Observations on Costus lead us to consider the probable existence of a polyploid series, with the recently described C. dirzoi being triploid.

TL;DR: In this article, the nutrient fluid for the golden flower maranta is characterized by comprising the following compositions of three kinds of mother solution A 00112 g/L of Ca(NO3)2 4H2O, 00812g/l of KNO3 and 00387g/L NH4NO3.
Abstract: The invention discloses nutrient fluid for golden flower maranta , which belongs to the field of nutrient fluid for plant cultivation The nutrient fluid for the golden flower maranta is characterized by comprising the following compositions of three kinds of mother solution A 00112 g/L of Ca(NO3)2 4H2O, 00812g/L of KNO3 and 00387g/L of NH4NO3; B 00834 g/L of KNO3, 00542g/L of KH2NO3 and 0125g/L of MgSO4 7H2O; C: 8mg/L of EDTA-Fe, 00257 mg/L of EDTA-2Na, 0315mg/L of ZnSO4 7H2O, 0514mg/L of MnSO4 4H2O and 00382mg/L of CuSO 5H2O; A, B and C are matched for use according to the volume ratio of 900 to 850 to 15; and when used, the A, B and C are diluted by water for 102 times The golden flower maranta cultured by the nutrient fluid has pure leaf color and strong plantlets; and compared with other nutrient fluids, the nutrient fluid for the golden flower maranta shortens the growth period by two months and is uneasy to appear the symptoms of leaf chlorosis

TL;DR: It is found that the zone of inhibition is well seen in oral pathogens such as Lactobacillussp and Streptococcus mutants, the values are found to be increased as the Zone of inhibition increases.
Abstract: The nanomaterials and nanoparticles are called as a wonder of the modern medicine. The zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnoNPs) have also used as the antimicrobial applications (the disease causing microbes isolated from different clinical samples and plant disease samples), agriculture, and anticancer therapy. The production of ZnO NPs increased day by day and increased the applications in exposure to humans and animals. The main aim of this present study is to observe the enhanced antibacterial activity of Maranta arundinacearoot mediated zinc oxide nanoparticles. The Zinc Oxide nanoparticles is synthesized using Maranta arundinacea root and the enhanced antimicrobial activity was checked with the addition of antibiotics. The root extract of Maranta arundinaceareact with zinc sulphate solution and forms zinc oxide nanoparticles. The nanoparticles formation was preliminarily confirmed using visual observation and followed by UV-vis spectroscopic analysis. In this study, we found that the zone of inhibition is well seen in oral pathogens such asLactobacillussp and Streptococcus mutants, the values are found to be increased as the zone of inhibition increases. Based on our results the arrow root mediated zinc oxide nanoparticles are the better drug of choice for the control of S. mutans a major causative agent in the oral diseases.
