TL;DR: In this paper, a chronometer including a tide indicating means has a tide grid (6) comprising a semi-diurnal tide contour line (6.10) with reference marks, which is displaced at a constant angular speed, as a function of the average cycle (taken over one year) of the tide, concentrically to a reading grid (4) having a read-off reference mark (4.10).
Abstract: A chronometer including a tide indicating means has a tide grid (6) comprising a semi-diurnal tide contour line (6.10) with reference marks, which is displaced at a constant angular speed, as a function of the average cycle (taken over one year) of the tide, concentrically to a reading grid (4) having a read-off reference mark (4.10) which accurately specifies the point of intersection with the tide contour line (6.10), the level of the tide corresponding to that at the time shown by the hands (2) of the chronometer.
