TL;DR: In this article, a system for using metadata from multiple sources to generate custom extensible markup language files for selected export targets is presented. But the system is limited to the use of metadata associated with a media item and parses metadata into a group of standardized fields to yield parsed metadata.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for using metadata from multiple sources to generate custom extensible markup language files for selected export targets. The system receives metadata associated with a media item and parses the metadata into a group of standardized fields to yield parsed metadata. The system then loads metadata style sheets, wherein each of the metadata style sheets is associated with a respective export target. Next, the system identifies a metadata style sheet from the metadata style sheets based on a selected export target to yield an identified metadata style sheet, and generates a custom extensible markup language file for submission with the media item to the selected export target, wherein the custom extensible markup language file is generated by assembling at least part of the parsed metadata according to the identified metadata style sheet.

TL;DR: An automatic metadata generation procedure that allows to label specific unstructured data (video lectures) with metadata compliant to the Learning Object Metadata standard is proposed.
Abstract: Automatic Metadata Generation in the context of e-learning standards is usually referred to algorithms able to process and annotate semi structured documents in plain text. As most of the information available on the web nowadays is unstructured and in the form of multimedia files, the need for more general approaches arises. We propose an automatic metadata generation procedure that allows to label specific unstructured data (video lectures) with metadata compliant to the Learning Object Metadata standard. After preprocessing, three different summarization algorithms are tested and used to obtain a synthetic description of video content, both in terms of Description and Title. Results show that, in the provided context, the obtained Description has a good agreement with the lesson abstract written by its author.

TL;DR: The first important results in the ongoing effort to provide the Construct structural computing services on the web are described.
Abstract: The World Wide Web is one of the most successful software systems. The web provides a simple, extensible, and standardized hypermedia platform with millions of users that have access to millions of servers holding billions of documents. Hence, an increasing number of researchers and developers are making their systems and services available on the web. In conformance with this trend, this paper describes the first important results in the ongoing effort to provide the Construct structural computing services on the web. The paper is organized into five parts: an introduction to the research area, a brief overview of the Construct structural computing environment, a detailed description of the completed development effort to provide the Construct metadata services on the web, a quick overview of ongoing and future work in this area, and finally, our conclusions.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present techniques for managing fraud information in a data store and a collection of metadata, including user profiles, security levels, fraud cases, and presentation information.
Abstract: Techniques are presented for managing fraud information. Metadata defines user profiles, security levels, fraud cases, and presentation information. One or more queries or reports are processed against disparate data store tables and the results are aggregated into a repository. The repository is also defined by the metadata. Furthermore, operations associated with sharing, viewing, and accessing the results from the repository is defined and controlled by the metadata. In an embodiment, portions of the metadata may be viewed and navigated in a hierarchical and graphical formatted presentation.
