Semantically generating personalized recommendations based on social feeds to a user in real-time and display methods thereof

Abstract: Systems and methods of selecting recommendations for a user in an online environment are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of performing semantic analysis on a content item associated with the user, online interactions of the user, and profile information related to the user to identify associated content metadata and keywords, assigning a weight to the content metadata and keywords based on semantic-type categories, comparing the content metadata and keywords to target metadata and keywords to identify recommendation matches, and selecting one or more recommendations to be provided to the user based on the recommendation matches.

Metadata enabled third-party application access of content at a cloud-based platform via a native client to the cloud-based platform

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for methods, architectures and security mechanisms for a third-party application to access content in a cloud-based platform. In one embodiment, a method includes, receiving, at the third-party application, metadata that identifies the file. The method further includes transmitting the metadata to a server which is associated with the third-party application. The metadata enables the server to request the file from the cloud-based environment.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for storing self-defining data and mapping elements with either a fixed set of allowed structures or types or with the structures and types determined by rules. Recovery is enhanced by the use of backward and forward pointers between data and mapping elements for the data elements in the order written by the management algorithm. Recovery is also enhanced by the use of companion pointers with metadata. The companion pointers may include pointers to data or mapping elements that are part of the same structural grouping. The metadata may describe the structural grouping. The metadata may also include pointers to the previous and/or next versions of the same elements. Recovery of the data and/or mapping structures is achieved by the reverse application of the management algorithm.

System and method for supporting non-native data types in a database API

Abstract: A database API is presented that can expose data of non-native data-types, i.e., types that are unknown at API design-time. A broad type-system is used that is understood by both a server and a client. The API can dynamically discover, at run-time, data types that were defined using this broad type-system. The API can retrieve metadata that references a non-native data type in a client type library. A retrieved instance of the non-native data type, in serialized form, may be deserialized using the metadata.
