TL;DR: A peer-to-peer system and method for efficient replication of and access to application specific environments and their data that includes automatically accessing application specific metadata to determine the location of application specific data and then replicating or providing access to the application metadata and data to a set of peers is presented in this paper.
Abstract: A peer-to-peer system and method for efficient replication of and access to application specific environments and their data that includes automatically accessing application specific metadata to determine the location of application specific data and then replicating or providing access to the application metadata and data to a set of peers. A system and method for efficient replication of and access to application specific environments and data that includes automatically accessing a source application's metadata to determine the location of the source application's data and then automatically transferring and transforming the application metadata and data to a target application's metadata and data.

TL;DR: In this article, a metadata server receives requests to access a data source from one or more clients and provides a metadata service proxy for establishing communications with the back-end servers and for signaling the backend servers to establish connections to data sources.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a computer-implemented systems and methods for accessing metadata across a network. A metadata server receives requests to access a data source from one or more clients. The metadata server is coupled between one or more backend servers and the clients. The backend servers may be coupled to the data sources of interest. The metadata server provides a metadata service proxy for establishing communications with the backend servers and for signaling the backend servers to establish connections to data sources. Data sources may be stateful or stateless. For stateless data sources, the metadata server may dynamically create reusable metadata service provider proxies that receive metadata from metadata service providers on the backend servers. For stateful data sources, unique metadata service provider proxies may be dynamically created and used to service client requests.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method is used in managing global metadata caches in data storage systems, where space is allocated in a memory of a data storage system to a global metadata cache which is configured to store metadata objects for a plurality of different file systems responsive to file system access requests from the plurality of file systems.
Abstract: A method is used in managing global metadata caches in data storage systems. Space is allocated in a memory of a data storage system to a global metadata cache which is configured to store metadata objects for a plurality of different file systems responsive to file system access requests from the plurality of different file systems. A metadata object associated with a file of a file system of the plurality of different file systems is stored in the global metadata cache. The metadata object is accessed by a plurality of different versions of the file.

TL;DR: In this article, an electronic payment system (EPSS) is used to capture metadata instructions, including instructions regarding an intended payment to a payee and can be generated through a truncation process and optical character recognition, directly from a digitally originated check, and the like.
Abstract: The present invention provides enhanced processing of Check 21 items using an electronic payment system (EPS) to capture metadata instructions. The metadata includes instructions regarding an intended payment to a payee, and can be generated through a truncation process and optical character recognition, directly from a digitally originated check, and the like. The metadata is stored in a database or the like for further processing instead of printing a paper check. In various exemplary embodiments, the present invention provides a capability to print Image Replacement Documents (IRDs) compliant to Check 21 regulations from the metadata. Further, these IRDs can include enhanced features as described herein.

TL;DR: In this article, an automatic graphical layout printing system is described, which is employed to convert documents and data objects generated and managed in various different formats into a generic electronic form format for print output.
Abstract: An automatic graphical layout printing system is described. In a distributed client server computer network, a print generation system is employed to convert documents and data objects generated and managed in various different formats into a generic electronic form format for print output. The print generation system imports form and content data comprising a document or similar data object. The graphical layout information and content data are extracted from the document to produce a stripped document. Metadata comprising rules that define the data field coordinate and type information within the document is generated from the graphical layout information and content data. New content data to be included in the document is then merged with the stripped document and metadata. A printable document consisting of the merged stripped document, metadata and content data is then generated.
