TL;DR: In this article, the authors have prepared polycrystalline samples of RCr2Si2C compounds with R=La, Ce, Pr, and characterized them by X-ray diffraction and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
Abstract: We have prepared polycrystalline samples of RCr2Si2C compounds with R=La, Ce, Pr, and characterized them by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The as-cast compounds were found to be single-phased and isostructurally crystallizing in the CeMg2Si2-based tetragonal crystal structure. The samples were further investigated by specific-heat, magnetization and AC susceptibility measurements in the temperature range 2–350 K and in magnetic fields up to 9 T. The results suggest non-trivial magnetic ordering of the Cr sublattice in all three compounds, accompanied with ferromagnetic ordering of the Pr magnetic moments below the Curie temperature of 30 K in PrCr2Si2C and possible metamagnetism in CeCr2Si2C. The experimental evidence of Cr magnetism is corroborated by results of extended first-principles calculations based on the density functional theory (DFT).

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetization of powdered RMn/sub 6-x/Cr/sub x/Ge /sub 6/-compounds (with R=Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Lu) was studied at 4.2 K in high magnetic fields up to 38 T.
Abstract: The magnetization of powdered RMn/sub 6-x/Cr/sub x/Ge/sub 6/-compounds (with R=Y, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Lu) was studied at 4.2 K in high magnetic fields up to 38 T. From the high field data values for the Mn-moments were obtained for compounds with K=Y, Gd, Tb, Dy whereas the R-Mn coupling constants were estimated for the compounds with R=Gd, Tb, Dy. The Mn-moments were found to be approximately 2/spl musub B/. Metamagnetism was observed in compounds with R=Y, Lu. The Mn-Mn distance strongly affects the magnetization curves in these latter eases. >

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hydrostatic pressure up to P ≈ 1.5 GPa on the magnetic phase transition in diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd1−xMnxGeAs2 has been investigated.
Abstract: We present the experimental results of the effect hydrostatic pressure up to P ≤ 7 GPa applied at the room temperatures in diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd1−xMnxGeAs2 (x = 0.06 − 0.3). We have found the pressure areas at which anomalies in magnetic properties were observed. Induced by hydrostatic pressure at P > 1.5 GPa magnetic phase transitions, interpreted as metamagnetic transition, were observed. The transitions from magnetic-ordered into magnetic disordered phases in region P > 4.1 GPa on the pressure dependences of relative volume compressibility were detected. We estimated the values of bulk modulus and volume magnetostriction. It is shown that high pressures significantly decrease the Curie temperature with values dTC/dP ≈ (−14.0 ÷ −6.8) K/GPa.
