TL;DR: In this article, mixed polymer brushes consisting of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) were prepared at room temperature by a sequential combination of surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and iniferter-mediated photopolymerization (SI-IMP).

TL;DR: In vivo implantation in a subcutaneous rabbit model supported the in vitro results of a rapid degradation rate of microspheres and provided only a mild and transient inflammatory reaction comparable to that of the control group.

TL;DR: In this article, the streaming potential of a wide variety of biopolymer and synthetic polymer thin films supported on glass microscope slides was evaluated using both negative and positive charge incorporation, and the effect of positive and negative charge incorporation on streaming potential was studied via incorporation of methacrylic acid (MAA) and both HC1 and CH 3 C1 salts of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) into the neutral polymer chains of HEMA, n-BMA, and methylacrmethylate (MMA) via copolymerization.

TL;DR: The MWNTs@MMIPs exhibited good affinity with a maximum adsorption capacity of 49.26 μmol g(-1) and excellent selectivity toward bisphenol A and combined with high-performance liquid chromatography analysis, the MWNT’s were employed to extract bispenol A in tap water, rain water, and lake water successfully.

17 Feb 1999TL;DR: In this paper, a copolymer consisting of methacrylic acid esters containing from about 9 to about 25 carbon atoms in the ester group and methacric acid ester groups having 2-(C1-4 alkyl)- substituents, was defined, with the proviso that no more than 60% by weight of the esters contain not more than 11 carbon atoms.
Abstract: A copolymer comprising units derived from (a) methacrylic acid esters containing from about 9 to about 25 carbon atoms in the ester group and (b) methacrylic acid esters containing from 7 to about 12 carbon atoms in the ester group, said ester groups having 2-(C1-4 alkyl)- substituents, and optionally (c) at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of methacrylic acid esters containing from 2 to about 8 carbon atoms in the ester group atoms and which are different from methacrylic acid esters (a) and (b), vinyl aromatic compounds, and nitrogen-containing vinyl monomers with the proviso that no more than 60% by weight of the esters contain not more than 11 carbon atoms in the ester group. Also described are additive concentrates and lubricating oil compositions containing the copolymers and processes for preparing copolymers.
