TL;DR: In this article, an imidazole of the general formula in which R is an alkyl (including aralkyl) group or an alkenyl group, R1 is hydrogen or an Alkyl group and R11 and R111 represent hydrogen or alkyls or together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached represent a benzene ring is prepared.
Abstract: Imidazoles of the general formula in which R is an alkyl (including aralkyl) group or an alkenyl group, R1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group and R11 and R111 represent hydrogen or alkyl or together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached represent a benzene ring is prepared by reacting the corresponding compound in which R is hydrogen with an alkyl or alkenyl chloride at 90-170 DEG C. in a solvent consisting of one or more alcohols and/or ketones having a boiling point of at least 95 DEG C. (at 760 mm.), the solubility of water in the solvent being 1-30 gm./100 ml. at 20 DEG C., and in the presence of one or more alkali metal or alkaline earth metal oxides or hydroxides in a proportion equivalent to 1-1.2 mols. of sodium hydroxide per mole of the imidazole; separating the solution of the desired compound from the precipitated inorganic salt and, if required, separating the desired compound from the solution. Suitable solvents are, for example, sec- and n-butanol, 2-ethylhexanol, pentanols, diethyl ketone and methyl isobutyl ketone. In the examples compounds of the above formula were prepared in which R1, R11 and R111 are H and R is n-butyl, benzyl, isoamyl, iosubutyl and isopropyl.

TL;DR: In this paper, a process for extraction of hydroperoxides using methyl isobutyl ketone containing not more than 10 ppm by weight of a phenol or phenols as a solvent for extraction is described.
Abstract: A process for extraction of hydroperoxides wherein 1,3-di-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)benzene and 3-(2-hydroxy-2-propyl)-1-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)benzene are extracted from a raw solution comprising 1,3-di-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)benzene, 3-(2-hydroxy-2-propyl)-1-(2-hydroperoxy-2-propyl)benzene and an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, said process using methyl isobutyl ketone containing not more than 10 ppm by weight of a phenol or phenols as a solvent for extraction.

TL;DR: In this article, the 4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenylboronic acid is reacted with methyl 4-(acetylamino)-3,6-dichloropyridine-2,carboxylate in methyl isobutyl ketone to produce methyl 4-amino-3,chloro,6-(4-chlorosine,3,fluoro,3methoxide,6)-pyridine,2-carboxylic acid, which is deacetylated to produce
Abstract: Methods of producing methyl 4-amino-3-chloro-6-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate. One method comprises adding methyl isobutyl ketone to an aqueous solution comprising 4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenyl boronic acid to form an organic phase comprising the 4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenylboronic acid and an aqueous phase. The organic phase and the aqueous phase are separated. The 4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenylboronic acid is reacted with methyl 4-(acetylamino)-3,6-dichloropyridine-2-carboxylate in methyl isobutyl ketone to produce methyl 4-(acetylamino)-3-chloro-6-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate, which is deacetylated to produce methyl 4-amino-3-chloro-6-(4-chloro-2-fluoro-3-methoxyphenyl)pyridine-2-carboxylate.

TL;DR: In this article, an analytical method for uranium was presented based on the extraction of uranyl nitrate with methyl isobutyl ketone from a sample solution saturated with aluminum nitrate.
Abstract: An analytical method for uranium is presented. It is based on the extraction of uranyl nitrate with methyl isobutyl ketone from a sample solution saturated with aluminum nitrate. An intensely colored complex is formed in situ by addition of the reagent l-(2-thiazolylazo)m-dimethylaminophenol. The uranium content can be determined spectrophotometrically with a sensitivity of about O.l mu g. (auth)
