Abstract: Titanium incorporated mesoporous molecular sieves were prepared by grafting TIPOT (Ti-isopropoxide) on various pure silica M41S type host materials These catalysts were characterized by using XRD, N2 physisorption, UV-vis DRS, and FT-IR spectroscopies The Ti-grafted mesoporous derivatives were catalytically active for the selective oxidation of 26-DTBP (2,6-di-tert-butylphenol) with H202and the catalytic activity decreased in the order of MCM-48MSIT-1CM-41BA-1 Apparently, 3 dimensional channel system of MCM-48 and HMS with small particle size and textual mesoporosity proved to be advantageous in liquid phase reaction For adsorption of MIBK (methyl isobutyl ketone), pure silica mesoporous materials had far superior sorption capacity (023-03 g/g-catalyst) to ZSM-5 HMS showed the best sorption capacity among them, and titanium grafting enhanced the MIBK adsorption to a minor extent Interestingly, however, 2% Ti-HMS in which the metal precursor is introduced with the silica source during synthesis, produced a significant increase of ca 20 % in sorption capacity than pure silica analogue

Abstract: The invention relates to a cardanol epoxy resin, belonging to epoxy resin materials The process comprises the following steps of: 1, adding bisphenol A, cardanol and epichlorohydrin in proportion into a reaction kettle; 2, heating and adding solid sodium hydroxide; 3, dropwise adding a sodium hydroxide solution, discharging water generated by reaction and the epichlorohydrin out of the reaction kettle by azeotropy, and returning the epichlorohydrin into the reaction kettle after condensing and decomposing for continuing the reaction; 4, after the reaction, distilling off water and most of the epichlorohydrin from the material in the reaction kettle, and removing the residual epichlorohydrin by a film evaporator to obtain crude resin; 5, adding an organic solvent and soft water into a refining kettle, dropwise adding the residual sodium hydroxide solution, wherein the organic solvent is toluene or methyl isobutyl ketone; and 6, removing the organic solvent from the refined resin solution by a film evaporator to obtain the product The used cardanol is environment-friendly, energy-saving and pollution-free, and the cardanol epoxy resin obviously improves the brittleness, toughness and weatherability of the cured resin

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sertraline hydrochloride having excellent solubility in various solvents and bioavailability and a crystal structure of metastable form by dissolving a sertraline free base in a solvent or suspending a sertraline organic acid salt in a solvent and introducing hydrochloric acid or hydrogen chloride to the solution or suspension. SOLUTION: A sertraline free base is dissolved in a solvent (e.g. an ester- based organic solvent such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate or the like or a ketone-based organic solvent such as acetone, methyl isobutyl ketone or the like) or a sertraline organic acid salt is suspended in a solvent, and hydrochloric acid or hydrogen chloride is introduced into the solution or suspension preferably at a room temperature or the reflux temperature of the solvent to give sertraline hydrochloride crystal of metastable form of the formula. The sertraline free base is obtained, for example, by a method for decomposing sertraline mandelate with an alkali. The amount of the hydrochloric acid or hydrogen chloride used is preferably 1.0-5.0 mol based on 1.0 mol of the sertraline free base or the organic salt.

Abstract: A discussion of the application of plastic bags is presented along with results of an experiment in which two plastic film materials were used to contain the vapors of four different chemicals at concentrations bracketing the current (1969) TLV. The four chemicals—benzene, methyl alcohol, methyl isobutyl ketone, and methylene chloride—are members of classes of important compounds used in many industrial applications. Additional studies using reactive mixtures under various environmental conditions are needed to determine retention characteristics under conditions similar to the conditions under which the samples are collected or standards prepared.

Abstract: A liquid-liquid extraction and determination of perchlorate by atomic absorption spectrometry is described. The method involves extraction of perchlorate with the Schiffs base complex [Co(BPTC)2]+, where BPTC = 2-benzoyl pyridine thiosemicarbazone, in methyl isobutyl ketone in acidic medium and subsequent analysis of cobalt in flame AAS, hence indirectly for perchlorate. The extraction efficiency is 98%. The calibration graph was found to be linear for 1.0–11.4 μg ClO 4 − per ml of solvent, and the limit of detection is 30 ng ml−1. The present method is free from interference of large number of foreign ions. The method has been applied for determination of perchlorate in human blood serum samples spiked with perchlorate, urine and commercial potassium chlorate sample.
