TL;DR: In this paper, perovskite-type LaCoO 3 was prepared via microwave assisted solid-state decomposition of La[Co(CN) 6 ]·5H 2 O precursor in the presence of CuO powder as a strong microwave absorber within a very short reaction time of 10min.

TL;DR: In this article, the oxygen potentials of (Pu0.3U0.7)O2−x in the near stoichiometric region were measured by a thermogravimetric technique which was used to establish the equilibrium between the oxide phases and H2/H2O system gas.

TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of ceria mixed with another oxide from group III, using the sol-gel method, has been investigated, and the structural, textural, and surface properties of these catalysts have been fully characterized by means of a variety of techniques (Brunauer−Emmett−Teller, BET; X-ray diffraction analysis, XRD; Raman; scanning electron microscopy, SEM; thermogravimetric analysis, TG; and temperature-programmed reduction/oxidation, TPR-TPO).
Abstract: The present work focuses on the combination of ceria mixed with another oxide from group III, using the sol–gel method. B2O3− Al2O3− Ga2O3− or In2O3−CeO2 mixed oxides have been prepared in order to improve the catalytic properties of these materials. The structural, textural, and surface properties of these catalysts have been fully characterized by means of a variety of techniques (Brunauer−Emmett−Teller, BET; X-ray diffraction analysis, XRD; Raman; scanning electron microscopy, SEM; thermogravimetric analysis, TG; and temperature-programmed reduction/oxidation, TPR-TPO). The highest surface area was achieved for the Al2O3−CeO2 mixed oxide. Only the fluorite structure of CeO2 was observed by XRD for all prepared mixed oxides; the presence of oxygen vacancies was proven by Raman spectroscopy. The acid–base properties were estimated by the adsorption of probe molecules (NH3 and SO2); two methods, microcalorimetry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), have been employed for that purpose. All investiga...

TL;DR: Spinel-like oxides with the general formula MgAl2−xMxO4 (Mn, Fe, Co) were synthesized in a single step by flame spray pyrolysis as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Spinel-like oxides with the general formula MgAl2−xMxO4 (M = Mn, Fe, Co) were synthesized in a single step by flame-spray pyrolysis. High surface area materials were obtained, which showed improved resistance to sintering upon increasing the Al-content. XPS showed surface enrichment of the transition metal constituent, which favorably increased the fraction of transition metal exposed to the environment. By tuning the fraction of transition metal in the mixed oxide, materials were obtained with a good balance between thermal stability and activity in the catalytic combustion of methane. The activity of the materials increased in the order Fe
