TL;DR: In this paper, a reliable and speedy simulation of the wind directly driven permanent magnet synchronous generator (D-PMSG) is presented, which can fix the aim of maximum wind energy tracking, active power and reactive power independent control and variable speed constant frequency operation.
Abstract: Wind energy, a kind of renewable and clean energy, is widely studied nowadays. Directly driven wind turbine permanent magnet synchronous generator (D-PMSG) plays an important role in the modern wind generating systems. A reliable and speedy simulation of the wind directly driven permanent-magnet synchronous generator is significant. By replacing the power electronic device with math equivalence, it established the windmill model, PMSG model, control model, voltage source converter (VSC) model, dc-line model, filter model and grid model in this paper. It achieved a simulation in Simulink of Matlab. This simulation model could fix the aim of maximum wind energy tracking, active power and reactive power independent control and variable speed constant frequency operation. With the influence of wind speed changing and short circuit occurring, the simulation results show the availability of the control strategies and research.

TL;DR: In this article, a process-driven spreadsheet queuing simulation is used to understand queuing behavior in a business school end-user modeling course, including developing students intuition, giving them experience with active modeling skills, and providing access to tools.
Abstract: Process-driven spreadsheet queuing simulation is a better vehicle for understanding queue behavior than queuing theory or dedicated simulation software. Spreadsheet queuing simulation has many pedagogical benefits in a business school end-user modeling course, including developing students intuition, giving them experience with active modeling skills, and providing access to tools. Spreadsheet queuing simulations are surprisingly easy to program, even for queues with balking and reneging. The ease of prototyping in spreadsheets invites thoughtless design, so careful spreadsheet programming practice is important. Spreadsheet queuing simulation is inferior to dedicated simulation software for analyzing queues but is more likely to be available to managers and students.

TL;DR: The integrated environment SeSam and recent extensions are presented, that allow creating simulated environments for agent based software as well as actually developing and deploying software agents.
Abstract: In this paper we want to show the possibilities to use agent-based modeling and simulation for software development. Therefore we present the integrated environment SeSam and recent extensions, that allow creating simulated environments for agent based software as well as actually developing and deploying software agents.

TL;DR: This paper discusses the specific aspects of this approach to modeling and simulation from the perspective of Informatics, describing the typical elements of an agentbased simulation model and the relevant research.
Abstract: The term computer simulation is related to the usage of a computational model in order to improve the understanding of a system's behavior and/or to evaluate strategies for its operation, in explanatory or predictive schemes. There are cases in which practical or ethical reasons make it impossible to realize direct observations: in these cases, the possibility of realizing 'in-machina' experiments may represent the only way to study, analyze and evaluate models of those realities. Different situations and systems are characterized by the presence of autonomous entities whose local behaviors (actions and interactions) determine the evolution of the overall system; agent-based models are particularly suited to support the definition of models of such systems, but also to support the design and implementation of simulators. Agent-Based models and Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) have been adopted to simulate very different kinds of complex systems, from the simulation of socio-economic systems to the elaboration of scenarios for logistics optimization, from biological systems to urban planning. This paper discusses the specific aspects of this approach to modeling and simulation from the perspective of Informatics, describing the typical elements of an agentbased simulation model and the relevant research. TL;DR: Results from steady state and dynamic simulations of a large hybrid model are presented to demonstrate insights that can be obtained from hybrid models which cannot be obtain from the study of transmission and distribution systems separately.
Abstract: The primary objective of this paper is to highlight the need for and benefits of studying the steady state and dynamic response of power systems using three phase integrated transmission and distribution (T&D) system models (hereafter referred to as hybrid models). Modeling and simulation requirements for building and analyzing hybrid models are also discussed. Finally, results from steady state and dynamic simulations of a large hybrid model are presented to demonstrate insights that can be obtained from hybrid models which cannot be obtained from the study of transmission and distribution systems separately.
