TL;DR: This procedure of spatial phase stepping has been implemented on a fast microcomputer, enabling quantitative results to be obtained in a particularly simple qay.
Abstract: In a two-beam optical interferometer, introduction of a tilt between the beams produces a set of nominally straight and equispaced fringes. The phase information represented by deformations in this fringe pattern can then be calculated at each point in a video image by using intensity samples from a group of neighbouring positions. Deformations of a linear grid pattern as encountered in moire methods can be analysed in the same manner. This procedure of spatial phase stepping has been implemented on a fast microcomputer, enabling quantitative results to be obtained in a particularly simple qay.

TL;DR: Moire fringe maps represent in detail the three-dimensional displacements that have occurred in engineering structures measured by applying a fine grid pattern to the surface and photographing this in white light with a specially modified 35 mm camera.
Abstract: Deformations of engineering structures are measured by applying a fine grid pattern to the surface and photographing this in white light with a specially modified 35 mm camera. The processed negatives are analyzed in a spatial filtering system to produce moire fringe maps which represent in detail the three-dimensional displacements that have occurred. Measurements have been obtained from brick built and concrete structures, from steel surfaces heated to 600°C, and from plastic and composite materials.

TL;DR: An optoelectronic technique is described, which measures the moiré phase with high resolution and sign determination, and the experimental results show that this technique is especially suitable for high accuracy automatic reconstruction of 3-D shapes.
Abstract: Some elements of comparison are given between projection-type moire topography and photogrammetry. The basic mathematics of photogrammetry is used to reconstruct the 3-D shape of the object from the moire pattern. Some particular aspects of the moire method are discussed, and a general methodology is proposed. In connection with this, an optoelectronic technique is described, which measures the moire phase with high resolution and sign determination. The experimental results show that this technique is especially suitable for high accuracy automatic reconstruction of 3-D shapes.

TL;DR: A method to reduce the color moire fringes that are attributable to the structure of a color flat-panel display in integral three-dimensional imaging using two types of optical low-pass filter, diffuser and defocus is proposed.
Abstract: We propose a method to reduce the color moire fringes that are attributable to the structure of a color flat-panel display in integral three-dimensional imaging. The method uses two types of optical low-pass filter, diffuser and defocus. The effectiveness of the method was confirmed in an experiment. We describe a way to design these filters with moire's residual energy and video signal energy as indices and demonstrate the validity of the model, which combines two filters to reduce moire fringes.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for three-dimensional mapping of an object was proposed, including projecting with a projector a set of fringes on the object and capturing an image of the object in a camera.
Abstract: A method for three-dimensional mapping of an object, including projecting with a projector a set of fringes on the object and capturing an image of the object in a camera. The method further includes processing the captured image so as to detect a Moire pattern associated with the object and so as to extract depth information from the Moire pattern, and configuring the projector and the camera so that a locally unambiguous characteristic of the Moire pattern is related to a depth of the object.
