TL;DR: In this paper , a semantic-aligned scale-aware module is proposed to address the scale variation of moiré patterns, which outperforms state-of-the-art methods by a large margin while being much more lightweight.
Abstract: With the rapid development of mobile devices, modern widely-used mobile phones typically allow users to capture 4K resolution (i.e., ultra-high-definition) images. However, for image demoiréing, a challenging task in low-level vision, existing works are generally carried out on low-resolution or synthetic images. Hence, the effectiveness of these methods on 4K resolution images is still unknown. In this paper, we explore moiré pattern removal for ultra-high-definition images. To this end, we propose the first ultra-high-definition demoiréing dataset (UHDM), which contains 5,000 real-world 4K resolution image pairs, and conduct a benchmark study on current state-of-the-art methods. Further, we present an efficient baseline model ESDNet for tackling 4K moiré images, wherein we build a semantic-aligned scale-aware module to address the scale variation of moiré patterns. Extensive experiments manifest the effectiveness of our approach, which outperforms state-of-the-art methods by a large margin while being much more lightweight. Abstract: : The theoretical background and the procedure of executing a new moire interferometry method, which combines the advantages of geometric moire method with the traditional moire interferometry, is reported. The method uses a steep geometric grating of about 40 lines/mm on a mirror finished specimen surface to achieve high contrast moire fringes. A special four beam moire interferometry bench is designed for the low grating frequency used. An application to experimental fracture mechanics analysis is briefly discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the use of digital moire techniques and demonstrate their application for the range of moire methods, including phase shifting, one of the most powerful fringe processing techniques.
Abstract: The proliferation of digital imaging techniques has permeated in the Experimental Mechanics arena as well. More so the fact that since digital imaging records information in discrete and periodic intervals, this system lends itself nicely as a moire reference grating in the various moire techniques. The aliasing feature, which is generally avoided in traditional digital image and signal processing, now can be used to analyze the deformed specimen grating for deformation studies. This paper will discuss the use of digital moire techniques and demonstrate their application for the range of moire methods. Furthermore the use of phase shifting, one of the most powerful fringe processing technique will also be discussed in conjunction with this.

TL;DR: In this article, a dynamic optic method is used to measure photo elasticity and fine meshed latticing moire testing method. And the deformation field of photoelastic materials, non-photoelastic material and non-transparent materials can be obtained according to the distributions of deformation fields in various times.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dynamic optic method to measure photo elasticity and fine meshed latticing moire testing method The existent multiple spark photographic system is used and the orhognal lattices of testing piece are respectively projected on the reference lattice shed before the photo-sensitive negative film, and then an interference is generated, so that the moire images of same stress field in the various directions are obtained The utilization of said invention can obtain the deformation field of photoelastic materials, nonphotoelastic materials and non-transparent materials, so that according to the distributions of deformation field in various times the changing laws of deformation, strain and stress field can be obtained
